Springbok and Western Province flank Schalk Burger has extended his Western Province contract for another two years.
Rugby 365 reports:
Burger has been struggling with a calf injury and he will also miss Saturday’s series-opening Test against the British & Irish Lions in Durban.
However, the Boks stalwart is pleased to re-sign with his beloved Western Province and Stormers until the end of 2011.
“The Cape is my home, and I am passionate about Province and the Stormers and am very pleased to be contracted to play for a further two years,” Burger said in a statement.
“I believe there is something exciting happening under the current coaching staff and am looking forward to the next two years of rugby in the Cape,” he added.

My first thoughts as well, on the other hand both Luke and Schalk mentioned how passionate they are about Province and Stormers. The one stays the other goes.

Well on this years Super14 form, Luke will be a big loss for the Stormers, and Schalk not such a big “gain”.
Maybe the rumours of division within the camp were true after all.
It is no secret that Luke and Schalk do not get on well. 🙄

OK so I saw the highlights of the SK game. What was all the hullabaloo over the kits? I thought they were a pretty plain ripoff of the Sharks colours.
Wonder how long Look will last before he gets thrown out, the shit beaten out of him by his teammates or decides he misses daddy too much.
The question then is which SA province will take hinm on when he returns… heard the sharks are looking for a felcher… ah fetcher…

The Stormers with him as captain, towards the end of the season did get a few wins – interesting times.
