Hey all – it’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for! We have launched the Currie Cup instalments of our famous Last Man Standing and Fantasy League competitions over on www.justrugby.net.
We’re still ironing out a few bits and pieces, as well as finalising the prizes. You may recall that we gave away Lions tickets in our Super 14 competitions, so we’ll have to try really hard to top that – watch this space for further info.
In the meantime, though, you can head on over to www.justrugby.net and register your teams for both competitions.
Last Man Standing
Over 14 rounds of the Currie Cup Premier Division round robin phase, you need to select just one team each week that you know won’t lose. Get it right and you’ll progress to the next round. If your team loses, you lose a lifeline. Lose two lifelines and you’re dead. Sound simple? Well, there’s a catch… you can only select each team twice over the course of fourteen rounds, after which the team will become unavailable. So you will need to plan very carefully to figure out exactly which matches Boland is likely to win!
The lifeline makes it a little easier, so does the fact that you effectively get two free picks as there are 8 teams (meaning 16 options) but only 14 rounds in which to choose them. Get in there and start getting those picks made, because it’s not going to be easy!
Fantasy League
This couldn’t be easier! Pick a squad of 30 players from the Premier Division of the Currie Cup and see how many points they score you over the course of 16 rounds. JustRugby’s Fantasy League is a war of attrition, so don’t expect to be chopping and changing your squad every week. We’ll give you ten trades to use in case of injury or serious loss of form, but you need to pick the guys that you feel are going to have the biggest sustained impact over the entire competition.
You can pick a weekly starting XV and a squad captain, to earn you extra points each week.

I might need some help getting the FL Player List finalised… let me know if there’s anyone missing, please
