According to media reports, Springbok wing Bryan Habana will play his rugby out of Cape Town from 2010 on.Habana’s agent, his father Bernie, has confirmed that they have accepted Western Province’s offer and will sign a two-year contract with the union once a few outstanding matters have been cleared up.

dont know what to think about this, i thought habana said he would stay at the bulls coz of the “winning culture” maybe it was all about the money anyway, and were wp allowed to talk to him? i thought you were only allowed to talk to players from october onwards, may be wrong there

WP have reported that he has not yet signed and there are a few details to iron out still:
WP Rugby today confirmed that negotiations to secure the services of 27 year old Springbok winger Bryan Habana are on-going.
Bryan, who started his provincial rugby career with the Golden Lions in 2004, has earned 53 Test caps for South Africa and holds the Springbok record for most tries in tests as a wing.
A couple of small details are still to be sorted out and an official announcement will be made on completion of the deal.

Ian Schwartz, business manager of the Blue Bulls Rugby Union, told Sport24 columnist JJ Harmse that he was surprised by the news.
“Our professional relationship with Bryan was of such a nature that I cannot believe that I have to read in the media that he is leaving. We’re still confident that we will keep him and are working hard at it,” said Schwartz
Hmmm this could get interesting.
Stupid move by Habana. The Bulls are the form Super14 team and consistently good. Whereas province will need at least another 2 years of rebuilding to match the Bulls.
Beeld heard from Habana’s team-mates that he told them by SMS on Sunday that he was leaving for WP.
