Not a great day at the office

Well, that was the sort of performance from the Sharks that really brought the fans down to earth. Credit to WP for playing pretty well, but goodness me, we certainly made it easy for them.

It’s a holiday here, so I’m not going to be around today to wallow in this defeat. Let’s just say that we were pretty soundly smacked – and to my mind there were two main reasons for it. Firstly, turnovers. I lost count of how many we conceded. Blame that on the stronger Province pack and a superb individual performance by Francois Louw. Our loosies, collectively, went missing. Not the first time we’ve seen that happen.

Secondly. Rory sodding Kockott. What is wrong with the guy? Does he not know how to pass? He single-handedly ensured that the rest of the backline got no decent ball whatsoever. And you can’t win without the ball, can you?

So well done, Province. Enjoy top spot, but know that the Bulls and Cheetahs are going to come at you in the next few weeks, hellbent on advancing their own ambitions at the expense of yours. As for the Sharks, well, all is not completely lost. Beating the Bulls at Loftus, though, is starting to look non-negotiable if we want to secure a top two finish and we have 80 minutes against Boland to try and find our mojo again.

Pick yourselves up and work hard this week, Sharkies! We know you’ll be back with a bang.

  • I don’t remember a single thing about this game… 😐

  • Why do you okes think I asked for Kockett to be selected the whole of last week?

And when it happened I was ‘quietly confident’ as Rob put it?

Gents, I am afraid the problems facing the Sharks are not only staring you right in the face, it is damned obvious.

Kockott has talent and guts – but it’s all being overshadowed by the fact that he is playing like an idiot. 👿

Congratulations are in order – your boys played well when they had to – and let the Sharks shoot themselves in the foot when they had to.

  • The Sharks played without a hooker, scrumhalf and flyhalf. You ain’t gonna win many games without them.

They should buy Richart Struas from ……….well who else the Vrystaat.

At least the under 21s dished out a decent snotting to the Province u21’s, and the under 19s had a massive win over the Griffons.

observations for whats it worth Province worked out stop Deysel and you stop the sharks everytime he touched the ball he was gang tackled
also though Rory and JMH had bad games i dont think that they were to blame for the loss we never stood up to the province pack and yes we have 4 first choice with the boks but we need to stop the rot and this weekend might be the ideal time to do it The pack was 7 kgs a man lighter than the province pack so we need some beef maybe we need to buy a lump who can help us out any ideas

  • Hi there all my sharks supporters!!!.

Wow what a shitty performance from Hernadez, kockott
and the rest of the team.

    That was so damn frustrating.
I just surely hope that Hernandez wont become another
frans steyn drop goal addict, because it looks like he is addicted to drop goals to me.(Millions of rands worth????) im not so sure about him. And one last thing besides the whole team playing poorly, why the hell is johan muller captain again?,he has a 0% win record in this currie cup so far. With johan captain we lost the first game against w.p and tis one aswell just when he returned. Bring stephan back now!!!. Im going to watch boland against Sharks this weekend at boland stadium and surely hope ill see a better performance.

  • @Prof. Ice Babe(Super Girl) (Comment 3) : @The Shark (Comment 41) : I am going to reserve judgement on JMH for a few more games, remember this was the real first real game he has played with the Sharks so still learning so to speak. I remember Michelak having an equally horrendous first match with the Sharks, and then coming back and assisting us in actually winning the CC. so I am giving him time, before I make any sort of call on him, but not that much time though 👿 ! As to Rory, what a shocker! He really has got too big for his own boots and its no longer the team for him! If I was Plum I would have brought CMcL on in the 1st half already, Rory could do with some splinters on his derriere end gained from the bench 😈 And PLEAAAAAAAAAAAAAse Plum, start with Burden and Stephan for Captain!!!!

  • Well lets just say some of us saw this coming a mile away. Plum tinkered with a winning formula and it cost us dearly. I was certainly not the only one to express concern over Strauss, SKIPPER, the change in captain and bringing JMH in from the cold to a crunch game.
We saw all this a mile away. Question is . . . why didn`t Plum?

Sure JMH would probably find some better form later on, but then he needs to play against guys like Boland, and not with Rory. I`m sure Border would love to have Rory on ” loan ” from us for the rest of the first division series!

Then there were all the reports in the papers all week about how motivated WP were and how this was their series decider. You want to tell me the Sharks didn`t know they`d be coming with everything they had? Was there something wrong with their internet last week ?

I was disappointed yes, for losing yet another home final advantage. How do they think they`ll get past the bulls with all their bokke back?

Province have some tough matches ahead yes, but mostly at home don`t forget we still have to go to Loftus LOL

What a circus, this could all have been avoided.
