Have your say with the SARU survey

SARU are starting to get their act together and have launched a survey for fans to have their say.

SARU says that the “Union is currently busy with a comprehensive research survey and the aim is to ultimately understand the rugby supporters better and to deliver a better product in a tightly contested sports entertainment arena.”

They also hope to “eventually grow the game in new target segments, to understand public perceptions of the SARU administration much better and to get an indication of what fuels South Africans’ interest in rugby”

I have already taken the survey and to me it certainly seems that there are a few questions in there that will provide some vital feedback to give SARU an idea of just WHO their target audience ought to be.

We can only hope that SARU take heed of the feedback they receive.

Use this opportunity to make your voice heard and let SARU know how you feel.

Go here to complete the SURVEY

  • Get on over there and take the survey.

It is not complicated and it will make your voice heard.

  • I did it…. they didn’t ask anything contentious, though 🙁

Also CLEARLY not designed with ex-pats in mind.

  • @robdylan (Comment 3) :

There are a few things that COULD be considered as eventually being an advantage to expats. The things like Bok supporters club requirements access to players, tour packages etc.

Also you can’t expect SARU to cater for the expats, when the fans at home are unhappy. Ticket prices are not an issue for ANY expats whereas it is a problem for almost EVERY local SA resident.

  • Do you think The Sharks should offer the first game of the Super14/Currie Cup for free? You would obv still have to get tickets to protect STHs, but I feel it would set a good precedent for the rest of the tournament. People would pay to come back if they knew they could get that atmosphere.. It would get your team off to a good powerful start as well.

I sometimes despair at how empty ABSA stadium is, and Sharks admin don’t seem to care at all. Its just sad

  • Computicket says games at ABSA stadium will cost R100?? One-Hundred bones!!! 🙁

Thats more expensive than Newlands, and at least Newlands can pull a decent crowd. This is truly pathetic. I feel betrayed!

Disgraceful even… I just want to know why?

  • @Frisbee (Comment 9) : that’s a bit crazy given the prevailing economic conditions in Durban.

  • @robdylan (Comment 10) : I’d rather watch it on Hi-Def at home, with cold beers in the fridge. No question! I always record it anyway because I need to watch it close-up as well. Two birds…

  • I joined the supporters club a few years ago. Only once. I found it an absolutely pointless exercise as there was no benefit compared to non-membership. Plus your were a couple of ront out of pocket.

I suppose that is to see how much rugby you REALLY watch and also to see if the title sponsor actually DOES get recognized by the supporters. 🙂

    The others were
