Its now or never!!!!
Ok, technical issues are out of the way π³
eish lekkadeng broer long time no chat , how ru doing???
by the way your post needs some attention π
nice quick repair job their π
Loved the confidence of the tweet by the way.
Plum staying conservative. I would have liked to see Mvuvo and maybe a different loose trio. Go Sharks make us proud.
GO SHARKS !!!

Would’ve liked to see deysel starting with kanko and alberts…
WE WANT DEYSEL!! ANYONE WITH ME?
sorry Sharks fans…..damage done before you start with Smit at 3…..thats turbo reverse overdrive….Plum wont learn…..accomodation selections again. Should have flown Herbst over. Really believed Sharks would have seen the light after the 56 th minute of last week game…..but no one has the guts to drop Smit. Will he hoping for a Sharks win…..but in turbo reverse watch Ruan and Kanko come under enormous pressure…..hopes have faded now.
Sorry….but thats how i feel.
Brumbies will be up for this one….can’t see the Sharks living with them…..they just play with more tempo….because of that …..more yellow cards may be on the way ! π₯
I like the title Claytie.
You’re a closet Sharks supporter now??
@grant10 (Comment 11) : Nooit boet! Sharks to come good! Lets Believe bru
@Volstruis (Comment 2) : I’m impressed with your FL Form ! π
@grant10 (Comment 11) : Brumbles scrum is useless, they don’t have Walsh to protect them this weekend, the scrum will be relatively solid.
I know you’ll argue to the death, but at least admit that it wasn’t such a bad call after we’ve beaten the Brumbels.
@Miguel (Comment 14) : as long as Sharks are prepared to concede at scrum time they will be beaten….essentially your platform to attack from between 8 to 15 phases of scrums is retarted…..not to mention the opposition, who will now gain the ascendancy iin the scrums and attack from front foot ball.
It is so frustrating to see great attacking talents having to operate off a retreating platform.
I would have played Kockitt as well….and instructed him to hound Giteau……with Ruan and Goode expect Giteau to have a field day behind a solid pack that will come under no pressure at scrum time.
Sorry mate….but it will take a miracle now.
@wpw (Comment 13) : Jy is oek mos, mase kind π
@FireTheLooser (Comment 16) : we will chat Monday….
the sharks will lose this game and go 0 for 5 a franchise record!!!
@Megatron (Comment 20) : Soon to be 0 from 6 π
i just truly hope and pray that PDV does not persist with this Smit at 3 for Boks…..thats what keeps me awake at night…!
@Megatron (Comment 20) : @Hertford Highlander (Comment 21) : Get a room you 2 π
@Hertford Highlander (Comment 15) : Unfortunatly had to make a few forced trades…your fulhouse in trades might come in handy later on
@Charlie (Comment 23) : π ya charlie they make a cute couple π
HI GUYS. Sorry, quiet week. Had one of those weeks! Cannot believe Plum has gone back to JS at 3. Not sure of the strength of Brumbies 1-3 but this is a fail. Sharks to take this one though, I think.
@grant10 (Comment 11) :
Here we go again… π
@grant10 (Comment 22) : You’ve got a nice and stress free life, the rest of us worry about work, you worry about Smit…the man should feel honored, Cant10 is concerned for his sake..
@grant10 (Comment 11) : Sadly I agree and you cannot drop Bismarck on current form. The captain’s famed handeling of the referees has not worked out so well this year and Stefan has proven to be a good captain (as long as it isn’t Muller) A scrum going backwards will affect Kanko and the rest of the bankline.
@deanoelsch (Comment 26) : Brumbles had Walshie wiping their noses this past weekend, they won’t have it again, Smit will stand his ground, Brumbles will give away penalty after penalty at the scrum.
Then PJLD can post a “sore” status update on FB again. π
@Charlie (Comment 18) :
Wat sΓ© jy van my ma?? π π
What has happened to the loanshark? That guy from the Bulls.
@wpw (Comment 32) : π
π― @KSA Shark Β© (Comment 33) : who knows
Is jy nog siende blind oek, oe jinne π
@KSA Shark Β© (Comment 31) :
LMAO π
@grant10 (Comment 11) :
BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM
You beat that drum my boy, don’t let anything stand in your way.
I’ll be the first to admit that the Sharks looked better last week with Smit off the field. I’m pretty convinced he’s still unfit cos when Bis came on suddenly it felt like 15 men on the field.
@KSA Shark Β© (Comment 38) : π π π
@CapeShark (Comment 39) : Fatty Smit has been unfit ever since he had a taste of the good life over in France with Clemont.
The team’s not perfect but it’s still good enough to beat the Brumbies. I’ve a good feeling about this one.
@sharks_lover (Comment 25) :yes like you and gbs π
@Charlie (Comment 23) : denialist! π
Smit was our starting hooker for the Boks in 2009 and did an admirable job, even destroying the highly rated Tony Woodcock!!
How many tests did we win with Smit at 3??
Grant10??
Care to answer??
@Volstruis (Comment 24) : I have just been lucky with injury at the moment still a long way to go. I’m banking on the Crusaders to win it ! π
@FireTheLooser (Comment 30) : Dream On !
@Megatron (Comment 42) : actually i just insulted highlander badly , he could never be ur type π π
@wpw (Comment 43) : You also have to look at who Smit had behind him and who the scrumhalf was. Bakkies was a lot of Smit’s handeling of the no 3 spot and Du Preez much better at handeling the pressure
@Megatron (Comment 42) :
typically you attack a man behind his back , enough said
@Hertford Highlander (Comment 45) : Oh yes, I forgot, we’ve got another kiwi ref on Saturday. π
@FireTheLooser (Comment 49) : dont forget the 3 aussies on the sideline and on tv duty
marks is a linesman
Brumbies vs Sharks in Canberra
Referee: Garratt Williamson (New Zealand)
Assistant referees: Paul Marks (Australia), Simon Moore (Australia)
Television match official: Matt Goddard (Australia)
@Megatron (Comment 42) :
@sharks_lover (Comment 48) :
Don’t get into it with each other plaese.
We are not Keo!!!!!!!!!!!
@sharks_lover (Comment 51) : So next week the panel will be minus 4 officials… π
@KSA Shark Β© (Comment 52) :
yessir π
@FireTheLooser (Comment 53) : π true
πΏ problem is if they cheat again we still will be down the bottom winless π₯
@KSA Shark Β© (Comment 52) : What? we’re not? I think a lot of bloggers are hanging on the wrong site then….
@sharks_lover (Comment 51) : I think that they haven’t update that yet….Marks has been “stood down” for the rest of 2010.
@FireTheLooser (Comment 56) : π
@FireTheLooser (Comment 56) : π
@Just a Fan (Comment 57) : eish the rest dont give any confidene either mate π
@sharks_lover (Comment 51) :
I just saw that as well while I’m busy doing the match threads for this weekend.
So they remove Marks from the S14 panel because he cocked up in a Sharks match and because the Sharks coach asked for an official review of the Ref’s performance.
So after removing him they appoint him to run touch for the Sharks the very next week???????????? π― π― π―
The appointments for the 1st 5 weeks of the S14 were made before the start of the season. I can only hop that the change of TJ has not yet filtered down through the channels. πΏ
@sharks_lover (Comment 51) : we truly are screwed with those 4 officating
@Just a Fan (Comment 57) :
The referees and Assistant referees panel are two different things and while he has been stood down as a referee, he may still be a Assistant referee.
We have quite a few referees in SA who are ARs in the tournament but will not referee in it.
I just HOPE that he HAS been stood down from both.
boys all i can hope for is that the sharks pull together and forget about the officials and play out of their skin
that is our only hope
From what I understand Marks has been stood down as a Ref (perhaps not as an assistant referee). Oh shite!
I fear that with El Kapetaan at 3, Odwa still in the mix and the fact that we last beat the Brumbies at home way back when, we are on a hiding to nothing!
I wish it wasn’t so but I would go for Brumbies by 15 on Superbru. But hell never write off the underdog, just ask the Reds!
@justinwhufc (Comment 62) : @KSA Shark Β© (Comment 63) : @sharks_lover (Comment 64) : If anything the referees might favour the Sharks out of fear for their jobs. They might over compensate and blow the other way (which isn’t really right either)
@sharks_lover (Comment 5) : Ah thank you
@Pokkel (Comment 67) : trust me that would never happen
you think marks is in trouble?? trust me thats just eyeblind
@KSA Shark Β© (Comment 31) : the one time you comment on my status update
@provincejoulekkading (Comment 68) :
pleasure sir π
@sharks_lover (Comment 51) : Hope somebody tackles Marks by accident π
@provincejoulekkading (Comment 70) :
@Charlie (Comment 72) : WITH SPIKES IN HIS SHOULDER PADS??? π
@Charlie (Comment 72) :
Maybe he can run touch for the Bulls. They are prone to passing to the touch judge, maybe they will hit him on the nose. π
@KSA Shark Β© (Comment 75) : π
@KSA Shark Β© (Comment 75) : what about a little above the knees ?
@Charlie (Comment 72) : Or on purpose
@KSA Shark Β© (Comment 61) : @sharks_lover (Comment 51) : from what i understand Skid Marks will not be running touch either
@KSA Shark Β© (Comment 75) : mind you if it was aimed at hitting him just above his knees, the ball would hit phil waugh on the back of his head π π
@Fattmann (Comment 79) :
From the South African Rugby referees website.
Two of SANZAR’s panel of referees for the Super 14 will not be getting appointments to Super 14 matches until they have made improvements to their performances. The two are Paul Marks of Australia and Pro Legoete of South Africa.
In this year’s Super 14, Marks has refereed two matches – Hurricanes vs Lions and Waratahs vs Sharks. Legoete refereed the second half of Sharks vs Cheetahs, when he came on for Jonathan Kaplan who was unwell, and then Cheetahs vs Highlanders.
The temptation is to say that Marks was being penalised for the Kurtley Beale incident when some (Sharks’ supporters) believed he should have awarded a penalty try. but Lyndon Bray of New Zealand, who is the manager of the referees in the Super 14, said of the Marks decision: “Paul has been βstood downβ, to work on some management versus technical issues. It is not all about that one decision!”
On the Legoete decision he says: ” In the same way Pro Legoete is not currently in the draw and is looking at working on his accuracy at scrum and tackle.”
At the moment the two referees, like players out of form, will not be chosen as referees in Super 14 matches and their return is dependent on how well they eliminate their weaknesses – get back into form. They will be given help to improve.
This is not new to refereeing but usually it has not been noised abroad. Bray said: “We are trying to be βtransparentβ and open in the way we handle referees, as teams have to be with players.”
Referees and assistant referees are different panels within the structure.
@KSA Shark Β© (Comment 52) : what have i said now? Come on don’t tackle me without the ball KSA
@Megatron (Comment 82) :
You didn’t say anything after SL made the comment about you attacking him behind his back.
thank you. π
@KSA Shark Β© (Comment 83) : sure mate…i don’t get that, am i only allowed to comment on posts where the authors are on the blog @ the same time as myself? π
LOVING the optimism in the Blog post headline. π
@Just a Fan (Comment 85) : done by a Stormers supporter π
@Pokkel (Comment 86) : Awesome, isn’t it.
@provincejoulekkading (Comment 87) : lekka lekka
it’s uncanny that the people most positive about the sharks here are morne & pjld…hhmm? i guess once an overly optimistic stormers supporter always one! π
I’m all for optimism this week. The Brumbies have been blowing hot and cold despite their 3 wins and the Sharks showed a massive improvement last week. I think we could actually take this one.
@Megatron (Comment 84) :
Okay I see you didn’t get it. π
I ONLY linked to your comment becasue that is what SL replied to. Al i was asking for was for you guys not to get into any personal stuff which you didn’t thanks for that.
@Megatron (Comment 89) :
You’re such a shit stirrer!!! π π
@provincejoulekkading (Comment 87) : Good work buddy π
@wpw (Comment 92) : and now?! Who stole your panties? π
@Fattmann (Comment 79) : That is good news.
Good luck Sharks. Keeping fingers crossed. We win this one it boost the confidence for the tour back to NZ.
@Pokkel (Comment 67) : π Not a bad thing for a change for our Sharkies if that happens π
I think you guys gonna do it this weekend. Ryan to score 3 tries!
@billy (Comment 1) : agree there go sharks it now or never π
@Miguel (Comment 14) : agree brumbies not so good as years ago but i still think sharks are going to nail this first win by 5 what do you all say π
@FireTheLooser (Comment 16) : gee firethelooser i’ve been gone for about a week glad to c you up and about missed the comments π
@Megatron (Comment 20) : oh megatron missed you 2 but still think the sharks are going to take this one you c its like the canes against the cheetahhhsss well done guys π
@Hertford Highlander (Comment 21) : now don’t go get your hopes so low sharks are going to win π
@KSA Shark Β© (Comment 81) : i heard something just like the comment you were telling us about the 2 refs, was in the bank and someone who works with smit brother said that is why the sharks are so unhappy because of the yellow cards refs 2 quick on the yellows don’t want to sound bad looser but it looks like that way to me 2 when i c the sharks play and that has to stop its costing us points and we are very much need of points π³ π π
@wpw (Comment 92) : oh yes agree on that one got me in some shit to, knows how to get a us all worked up aahhhh π³
well still say
GO SHARKS GO π
well i’m off c you all tomorrow sorry for commenting so late but shit happens but back tomorrow π
Andy Goode continues at flyhalf, which means that Ruan Pienaar is getting another chance to get reacquainted with his old scrumhalf jersey. However the partnership may not last for long as it has been learned that Goode will not be available for the Sharks after they return to South Africa due to the procedure that would have to be followed to secure him a work permit. π― π― π―
@Charlie (Comment 107) : just as well no more yellow in our team when they return i guess π
@Charlie (Comment 107) : @Charmaine (Comment 108) : This means Ruan will get shifted around again!
Poor guy just can`t win . .
And as far as team cohesion goes . . .. well we have none.
@Charlie (Comment 107) : Is this true???
@Original Pierre (Comment 109) :
Ruan needs to realize that the team comes first. π
@wpw (Comment 111) : i think all the players should think the yeam comes first and play like a team and maybe we c wonders
GO SHARKS β β β I am behind you all the way
