In the post match interviews with Frans Ludeke and John Plumtree, there were two coaches with very different faces, one of joy and one of pure agony.
Ludeke was first up to face the questions, with a subdued room of journalists not knowing whether to ask anything as the coach looked like he was about to burst into tears.
Commenting on the Sharks backline reshuffle, “they were fantastic from broken play, very organized on the counter attack, the combinations worked well. We are happy to have secured the bonus point, every point counts towards getting in to the playoffs”. Ludeke was also sure that no serious injuries were picked up by the Bulls.
John Plumtree was up next, and he was happy with the way the Sharks came out to play, saying that they stuck to the game plan and it paid off.
John felt that McCleod, Lambie and Ludik had really good games, and he was happy that Steve Meyer was able to control the game.
“Lambie was good, he has good distribution skills, balanced in the contact situation and accurate on defence. I don’t want to blow too much smoke up his bum, because we all what happens then, but he is a revelation.” Plum said.
Asked about the injury list, Odwa and Alberts are both expected back this week, but in Odwa’s case, it might be in vain as he will struggle to walk back into the team. “He will have to wait” was Plumtree’s exact words when asked about Odwa.
Deysel should be back in time for the Cheetahs match in two weeks.

awesome… thanks for attending, Rich.
Glad to hear we’l have the big bus back this weekend.
@robdylan (Comment 1) : Pleasure Rob, it was an amazing experience. Can’t wait to go back again. lol!!
After reading the title, I thought this was an article about Knysna!!
Looking forward to having the big units back, and looking forward to the character building in the team, as competition for starting berths heat up… Odwa will battle to make the Starting XV immediately, get him fit and wait for JPP’s call up to happen…
I am glad Plum was in a lighter mood and being more human, I think this CC squad will respond to him, and hope the strategy is improved by the time the Play-offs come. Don’t want the “Bok Blunder” to have any impact on our momentum…
Major concern to me is who will play where when the injured guys return? Keegan and Micheal are playing good but 1 or both is going to lose out. Odwa should go to the bench or perhaps try on the no13 jersey.
@Jarson (Comment 5) : Aye, but what do you do with Kaptein Stef? Just wait on JP to join the Boks and play Stef at 15? I think Odwa would have made a great 13 if he’d played there when he was younger. Bit late in his career to expect that of him now, but it’s an option…
Oddie’s hands will be a problem at 13.
@robdylan (Comment 7) : Odwa has had a good run at The Sharks, he is very senior there, he will take fighting for his place in his stride… He has done well at Fullback, and does offer good back up to the squad in 11,14,15… He needs to become a team player in the mould of a backline Danie Rossouw… But I think Odwa is a team player already, he is a gentleman and a great guy, he will relish the challenge… He needs to specialize at being an outside back… With JPP’s call-up only a matter of time, Odwa will see gametime before soon…
Well done Plumpie it was a great team now bring our guys to the top and keep them just where we want them
don’t go and under estimate our SHARKS 😆 when they come back its with a bang
and it about time that Ludeke gets whats coming to him
I think we might be becoming the Bull’s bogey team 😛
@Jarson (Comment 10) :
Well if JPP does get a call up to the Boks are u sure Odwa will play?? What about Mapoe and when Adi returns, where will he play and surely Stef won’t keep Jacobs out od the team!
