Since his debut in 1996 for Boland, one of our Old toppies is reaching yet another milestone in his long and fruitful rugby-career.
Tomorrow night Stefan Terblanche will be running on the field for the 100th time in a Currie Cup game against the Pumas in Durban. Twenty five of those were for Boland.
Terblanche made his CC debut in 1999 for the Sharks. Between 2003 and 2007 he played in 87 games for Osprey.
When he returned to the Sharks in 2007, he played his 100th game in any series for the Sharks against Western Province. That day he scored 2 tries, playing fullback and was awarded the Man of the Match award.
Earlier this year, Oupa also played his 100th Superrugby match for the Sharks.
Together with the 37 Test he played for the Bokke, he has played almost 330 matches in his senior career.
Tomorrow night, as last week he will be center- pairing with the 19 year old Lambie, who was just 5 years old when Mallet gave Terblanche his Currie Cup debut.
Terblance is certainly one of the most dedicated rugby players of all time.
Congratulations on yet another milestone – we wish you one hell of a game tomorrow!!
Hip-Hip! Hooooraaaayyyyy!!!!

Conrats Oom! Another milestone in a fruitfl career!!
Damn I wonder how many CC only centurions are out there.
For a guy I have an unexplained, natural dislike for I must say I have grown to like him more in the last 2 years… Congrats.
*Spit*
@KSA Shark © (Comment 2) : 😯 There are 27. 😯
@KSA Shark © (Comment 2) : U being snotty?? 😈
And he is still in great shape physically for a oom!
@Lady Ice (Comment 5) :

Congratulations on the century.
Nice to see that the older generation still note each others milestones.
I am not lie and say I hope he plays for many more seasons, but I wish him all the best and hope he can pass on some of what he has learned to the young ‘uns.
@KSA Shark © (Comment 12) :
3 more for Botes and he’ll also be in there. 😎
I reckon WP will announce the signing of Oupa as soon as the CC has ended.
We need depth at fullback don’t we?? 🙄 😳
Well done Oom Stef
is this only premier division? A bit confusing, because of the years in which all 14 unions played in the top flight of the currie cup, hence caps for Northern Free State and so on actually counting here…
@Big Fish (Comment 13) :
Nice to see that the older generation still note each others milestones.
Bwhahahahahhahaha I doubt she picked up on that. so I’ll point it out to her. 😆
@KSA Shark © (Comment 12) : thanx 😛
didn’t realised that Skipper played so many.
@robdylan (Comment 17) :
Nope it seems to be for both. hence the large number of centurions who were actually retirees. 🙂
@KSA Shark © (Comment 12) : @Big Fish (Comment 13) :
I see Claytie’s father is also on the list!! 😈
102 John Daniels Kavaliers (56); Lions (46) 1998-2008
@wpw (Comment 15) : neee – he already has retirement by the sea 😆
@KSA Shark © (Comment 18) :…I did…GRRRRRRRRRRR!!! 😆
@KSA Shark © (Comment 18) :
Traitor!
@rekinek (Go Klose!) (Comment 19) :
It boggles the mind that Skipper has found a home for this long. At least he aint with the Sharks no mo.
@wpw (Comment 21) :
It’s a really special achievement by Oom Daniels. Claytie really must be proud of his dad.
@wpw (Comment 15) : I read a Plum interview where he said “That’s why I’ve signed Stefan Terblanche for next year” no jokes!
@war1 (Comment 25) :
bwahahahahahaha
😆
@war1 (Comment 25) : TT shall rejoice 😆
@wpw (Comment 26) : seriously, plum said he needs experience in the backline next year
Won tickets to the game tommorow thanks to sharks world!! =)gonna totally cheer the old man tommorow
@Poisy (Comment 29) : what a wonderful site! Remember to send us a photo after the game
@Poisy (Comment 29) : 😎
the guy needs to bloody retire now! He is a selfish egomaniac who never passes!
Retire already!!!! 😈
Congrats Stef!!
One thing I noticed while ready through the list KSA Shark posted was that WP has not one 😯 single player on that list (except for AJ – but he was a Shark through and through)… I wonder what that means?? 😉
@Megatron (Comment 32) : 🙄
@Mole (Comment 33) : I didnt even notice that, maybe thats why they cant win a cup, they lack experience 😉
@Megatron (Comment 32) : you still here? Which SA side do you support again?
@war1 (Comment 28) : And what a sub to have – can cover 11, 13, 14, 15, masses of experience and an excellent leader – cant ask for much more!!
@Mole (Comment 34) : he has not a clue as to how to through the bait out subtlty and catch the fish hook line and sinker…forgive him, still a rookie to this game! 😉
Will do rob! =) what’s your twitter username. I can send them via twitpic
@Mole (Comment 37) : i dont think he meant as a sub 🙁
@war1 (Comment 40) : Cant see him keeping 13 ahead of Adi, not enough pace for wing, and 15? I will back ludik… End of an era?
Jarson jou blikskottel!
Hoeveel Currie Cups het julle al gewen??
Blerrie fool! 😉 😆
@Poisy (Comment 39) : just send to sharksworld on twitter. That’s mostly me
Maybe after his century he can be put out to pasture…
@lostfish (Comment 44) : the record is 142 – tempting tempting
chatta later guys. enjoy the evening 😛
@wpw (Comment 42) : In the last 20 years? 2 times more than you 😉
@Jarson (Comment 47) : 1990 Natal, 91 Noord TVL, 92 Natal, 93 Transvaal, 94 Transvaal, 95 Natal, 96 Natal, 97 WP, 98 Bulls, 99 Lions, 2000 WP, 2001 WP, 02 Bulls, 03 Bulls, 04 Bulls, 05 Cheetahs, 06 Bulls & Cheetahs, 07 Cheetahs, 08 Sharks, 09 Bulls and 2010 Sharks 😀
@rekinek (Go Klose!) (Comment 45) : ha ha, we need the young guys to get experience especially if oupa isn’t going to be playing next year.
Clutching at straws hey Jarson?? 🙄
@wpw (Comment 50) : Hehehe, WP was very impressive before 1990 though 🙂
Yeah I guess so!! 🙄
@Mole (Comment 41) :
I’ll back ludik as Lambie’s back up.
@KSA Shark © (Comment 53) : I see that we are the victims of a Kiwi conspiracy to garner support for the World Cup.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. P Divvy is a bloody idiot.
@KSA Shark © (Comment 53) : you still think he should play fullback? Lambie, I mean
@klempie (Comment 54) :
And yet that ‘idiot’ has a 70% winning record as Bok coach!! 🙄
@Mole (Comment 41) : with john smit probably going and plum not backing anyone to take over the captaincy, plum will probably make oom stef captain next year 😯 😕
@robdylan (Comment 55) : Think after last week his position should be 12… finally a distributing inside centre 😛
@war1 (Comment 57) : You are probably right.. Stef has always been solid at 15… Off the top of my head (slow this morning) I cant think of any other captain, Botes yes, but he should be kept out by Deysel, Alberts and Kanko.
@wpw (Comment 56) : You mean that ‘idiot’ has a 70% winning record as a clown and puppet Bok coach. Just ask Brendon Cannon!
Seriously, Div does more damage to this country’s image than his ‘results’ do to improve it.
Did you watch the Fox guys having a go on B&A last night? Aussies or not, we are the laughing stock of world rugby right now and John Robbie agrees.
@klempie (Comment 59) :
Dude, since when do we give a rats ass what Kiwis or Aussies think??
We are the freakin Tri Nations AND World Champions!!
Div is far from perfect but as long as he produces results I will back him.
You have had it in for him since he was appointed and even though he HAS produced the goods you still can’t give him credit.
@wpw (Comment 60) : Everytime I give him credit he does something to make me feel stupid. 😆
@rekinek (Go Klose!) (Comment 27) : where were you when i defended stefan on monday from rob’s harsh ratings? stefan is a great player and a great guy off the park. i will never take that away from him. i only groan about the regular brainfarts he makes. but his cc record is a lot better than his super rugby. i think he gets away with his brainfarts more in cc than he does in s14. but as i said on monday with kockett out and lambie in he seems to hold onto the ball more. so he has my backing again.
@klempie (Comment 59) : john robbie and the aussie presenters are bigger tossers than pdv. so i take what they say with a pinch of salt. i rate them alongside kobus wiese and joel stransky in the kak praat stakes.
@klempie (Comment 59) : part of the pregame talk – hope it will motivate Boks.
@klempie (Comment 59) : btw – i thought you would be concentrating more on burger ladies 😉 😆
..
@rekinek (Go Klose!) (Comment 65) : burger ladies, burger ladies…. 😐
@try time (Comment 66) : 😉
@try time (Comment 63) : So you at least acknowledge that Div is a tosser?
@try time (Comment 66) : 😯 😈
@klempie (Comment 69) : where did i say that? i actually give div his due, he has outboxed the biggest finger pointers in world rugby, the kiwis and aussies. i have been sick in the past of sa rugby biting their tongues while the boks have been accused of every possible thing. no i support him.
@try time (Comment 71) : You said they were bigger tossers than him. The implication being that he is also a tosser. 😉
@try time (Comment 66) : Dirty sod. You’re quite correct though. Just rude for noticing. Ruder for asking!
@klempie (Comment 72) : oh in that light we all are, some just more than others. 😆
@klempie (Comment 67) : the ladies that Matthew Pierce was interviewing – weren’t they advertising some sort of roadhouse – or were you getting tea in exactly that moment
@Baldrick (Comment 73) : are you one of those guys that don’t tell someone his fly is down, but rather have a little giggle. i’d rather be rude, than laugh behind a back. 😉
the resolution aside, it is one of the better pics of ice. photoshop is amazing. i am sure it could make me look good. it will take a lot of time, but i am sure it can be done. 😆 😆
@Baldrick (Comment 73) : the only reason why i noticed was her smile caught my attention and her hand was right next to the smile.
@try time (Comment 78) :
Yaso. Lets drop it now please and rather discuss what a beeeg tosser klempie is!! 😈
@rekinek (Go Klose!) (Comment 75) : Oh the meter maids! 😎 Ja, I dunno who they were working for. There was a Hungry Jack’s in the background but I think that was a separate issue. Look if they keep their accents to themselves then I’m willing to have a go. 😆 😆
@wpw (Comment 79) : 👿
@try time (Comment 78) : Ja, ja. 😆 😆
@klempie (Comment 81) :
😆
Just kidding bru!! 😉
@wpw (Comment 83) : I know!
@try time (Comment 63) :
Agree: John Robbie reminds me of a politician – gets all passionate about things just so people note his existence. I rate him alongside Joel Stransky. Rather listen to Warren “Hyperbole” Brosnihan and Owen “Try Time” Nkumane. 😳
@wpw (Comment 79) : thats an everyday topic, mine was a once in a blue moon topic. but yeah he is isn’t he. 😆 😆
@Big Fish (Comment 85) : agreed. owen and darren are good presenters. even naas, morne and andy are fine to listen to. but there are some plonkers as well.
@Big Fish (Comment 85) : I thought it was Owen “Front-foot ball” Nkumane?
@Baldrick (Comment 88) : heheheheeeeee
@try time (Comment 87) :
Not the biggest Owen or Brosnihan fans; just despise them less than others. 🙂
@Baldrick (Comment 88) :
You mean “go-forward ball”.
How often does he say “Try time, the Sharks”, or “Try time, the Bulls”, or “Try time, the Cheetahs”.
We know he almost never has opportunity to say “Try time, the Lions”…
@Big Fish (Comment 90) : @Baldrick (Comment 88) : you two obviously listen to what they say. i switch off. i only listen to players names during the game and views on contentious issues, otherwise i zone out.
@Big Fish (Comment 90) : Quite right, I knew it was something “forward”.
Hasn’t had to say “try-time Province” too many times of late….
@try time (Comment 63) : especially stransky!!what a tosser!!!
@Baldrick (Comment 92) :
Hush!
You dont want wpw to take this up on a post-lunch endorphin high…
Like him or dislike him, anyone who plays 249 First Class Matches is someone special. Sure, he is not a pure outside centre by a long shot, but his performance against The Bulls was decent, in The Super 14 this year, he tried to take on too much… His distribution too was below average, when he was on the wing and Snyman was 13 he bleated about not getting the ball, now look… But moving on, I’d like to see him complete this season as captain and outside centre, but should step down at the end of this season, if he makes it into the Super 15 squad for next year I will be a little upset…
@Big Fish (Comment 94) :
Hey!! 👿 🙄
@wpw (Comment 96) : i see ice killed one topic today. 😆 😆
Well done Oom Stefan! 100 games and still counting!!!
On another note, if the Stefan is going to retire at the end of this year, and Lambie is planning on playing at flyhalf ultimately, then who besides Ludik do we have as a primary fullback??
