I’m married to Sam for 14 years. We have two girls Ninette 13 and Bianca 11. Sam and Ninette are Lions supporters and Bianca and I are the Sharks in the family. I’m a full time mom. I love rugby, reading, playing pc games and building puzzles, to name just a few. I was born in Vanderbijlpark, then moved to Newcastle, then to Germiston….we moved a lot when I was a kid. I’ve been living in Brakpan for 7 years. I’ve got dark brown hair, blue eyes, I’m about 1,65m tall and I’m not saying my weight…although I’ve lost 11kg already, so yeah me 🙂
Name, nickname and where do you live?
Jonita, Nita, Brakpan Gauteng.
What do you do for a living?
A proud mom and wife.
Who do you support and why?
The Sharks, because I have good taste 🙂
What was your most memorable rugby moment (personally experienced or a team / player)
In 2007 when I saw the Sharks for the first time LIVE at Bosman Stadium.
What is your Dream team (old and current players)?
It must be a mix because there’s so many great “older” players and then new players is just as talented.
Which co-bloggers opinion do you value the Most? Why?
Well all of them, most of them knows more than I do. But I’m partial to those I know best like you (THAT IS ICE FOR YOU”S THAT DO NOT REALISE THIS 😉 ), Letgo, Mama Shark, Nessa…and so on.
What is the biggest sacrifice you’ve made to watch a rugby match?
Family always comes first with me, so I’ve not made any big sacrifices, yet.
Who is your least liked player?
Pierre Spies, not because his not a good player, but because he keeps Ryan out of the game…and I do believe Kanko is better than Spies.
Who are your favourite 3 players of all time and why?
James Small, because that’s the first player that made me know that rugby exists.
Ryan is my favourite at the moment.
But my no.1 is my husband, he taught me all about the game, made me love the game, and although he can’t play anymore he still has the heart of a rugby player.
If you could have a blogger deleted, who would it be and why?
I’m a very friendly person and to get under my skin like that someone will need to have done something very bad. And I don’t blog enough to have ‘enemies’ but I hate being ignored 😉
If you could select a coach (past or present) to be with Your team – who would it be?
Ian McIntosh and think he’s the best.
How did you end up on SW, wasting valuable company time?
I can’t remember how I started, it was after the Sharksrugby blog was canned.
Who is your favourite referee – current or old?
Jonathan Kaplan
Why Rugby ?
Like I said Sam used to play, made me go to all the practices and games, except when he was playing overseas. My mom passed away in 2007 and I was devastated, I needed something to help me cope and I turned to rugby and today I’m very passionate about the game and my team off course.
How do you react when your team loses?
If it’s a small game then it’s not so bad but when it’s a big game, like the Super 14, I get depressed and quite and sometimes even need to cry for a bit. And after that it’s back up and looking ahead to the next game because there’s always a next game.
What is your most memorable rugby moment ever?
Whenever we win.
What is your favourite rugby ground?
I’ve only been to Loftus, Ellispark, Bosman and Kempton Park, so I don’t have a favorite but I would love to go to Kingspark.
What is your earliest memory of a live game – provincial or testmatch?
My first live game was a Super12 game at Loftus.
If you could play – what position would suite you best and why?
I’m not athletic at all but if I must choose, it will have to be a prop…unless they make supporter a position.
Do you have any pre-match routines (home or going to the game)?
No not really, just make sure not to be late.

Cool read.
Excellent BOTH of you.
What is your favourite rugby ground?
I’ve only been to Loftus, Ellispark, Bosman and Kempton Park, so I don’t have a favorite but I would love to go to Kingspark.
Nits – when you are ever down in Durbs…I think we need to see if we can make a plan with that little wish! 😉

@Greg (Comment 11) : 😈

@KSA Shark © (Comment 3) : note to self : be nice to KSA
@wpw (Comment 17) : don’t know the original name and calling it Vodacom Park sounds so commercialised 🙄

@rekinek (back to rugby) (Comment 19) : Free State Stadium ❓
@rekinek (back to rugby) (Comment 18) :

@Zibbie (Comment 5) :
And here is well. Grew up in V-Town!
And I have only been to Ellis and Olienpark. But my sister has season tickets at Kingspark. And always invite me to use them!
Nice to meet you and I just have to add I think I dislike Spies more than you!
Thanks Ice, for the great job and thanks to all for the kind comments.
@KSA Shark © (Comment 3) : Thanks for the offer and I will definatily make a plan early next year 🙂 @Ice (Comment 10) : Sam played tighthead prop and he was quite good, he won best forward in a tournament in New Zealand once.
@Greg (Comment 11) : Greg, that’s what I want them to think 😉
@Big Fish (Comment 12) : I know the ladies beter that all, and sometimes the men can be a bit intimidating when they get all serious 😉
@rekinek (back to rugby) (Comment 15) : The nice things was that you are so close to the players, you can almost join the game.
@RugbyGal (Comment 26) : Great minds think alike 🙂
