Welcome to the team of the week following Round 11 of the ABSA Currie Cup.
As it should be, players are dropping out of the team or winning spots in the team based on their performance over the weekend, and are not just mentioned through what they can achieve. After the Sharks’ recent dip in form, they have come back to rule the roost.
We are very close to having a brand new backline, with only Juan de Jongh keeping his spot from last week. The battle of the fullback is on between Taute and Daniller, with Daniller taking it this week after a decent performance against the Sharks. I personally thought that Ludik had outplayed him, but the Sharks fullback received only one vote. Pat Lambie makes a comeback into the 10 jersey, if only just with the votes split almost dead even with Elton Jantjes.
Ryan Kankowski is the only player this week to be nominated in every single team, and is thus named Windhoek Player of the Weekend. It is a Sharks dominated pack this week, with youngsters Eugene van Staden and Pat Cilliers showing what they are capable of and making the team for the first time. So to did Chiliboy Ralapelle after his bench performances for the Springboks. Willem Alberts has now been in 5 successive Team of the Week.
As you all can see, we now have a sponsor for the Team of the Week, and with a sponsor comes a prize. The competition we will be running will work as follows; at the end of the Currie Cup anybody can enter their team of the Currie Cup. The person that gets their team spot on with the team we select, wins a couple cases of Windhoek Lager. Thanks must go to Windhoek for their participation.

@Richard Ferguson (Comment 3) : To be perfectly honest I though Ludick deserved to be in there but by looking at the other votes i thought I missed something 😳 Also you guys did not want Jean De Villiers at 12 😈
@Clayton(PJLD) (Comment 5) :
de Villiers only got 3 votes.. out of 11 teams submitted!
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 6) : Damned Bulls bias on this site ❗
@Clayton(PJLD) (Comment 5) : Watermeyer played very well
@war1 (Comment 8) : Bias I say!
@Clayton(PJLD) (Comment 9) :

@war1 (Comment 12) :
I didn’t submit a team because I didn’t see all the games.. So I really would not know..
@war1 (Comment 13) :

What the heck is chiliboy doing there both burden and strauss had better games?
I picked Ludik, let the record show.
Rich… I know you just turned 25. I reckon Eugene van Staden would like to know what gives you the right to call him a youngster 🙂
@Benna08 (Comment 22) :
Most of the okes here, and on Rugby365 disagrees with you.
@robdylan (Comment 23) :

Just in case you wanted to be anonymous..
