The Vodacom Blue Bulls flanker Derick Kuun will attend a SARU judicial committee in Cape Town on Tuesday at 14h00 after being cited for foul play during an Absa Currie Cup Premier Division game against The Sharks in Durban on Saturday.
Kuun was cited under Law 10.4 (a) for striking The Sharks hooker Bismarck du Plessis during the 56th minute of the game. The Sharks defeated the Vodacom Blue Bulls 16-12.
More on this as it develops.

did he strike him in the nads?
In the damned nads,ban him forever
@Megatron (Comment 1) : Yes no wonder Bissie was pissed 😯
Yes. Yes he did.
That should be 12 week ban, as well as bismarck getting a free hit (nut-punch)on Kuun before the next sharks/bulls game. In the middle of the field. In front of the whole crowd.
It will make rugby more entertaining don’t you think?
@PTAShark (Comment 4) :
Hahahaha… I love that idea.. that would be worse than a 12 week ban in my opinion.. Fair game!
@PTAShark (Comment 4) : Absolute truth!
What`s the use of banning him now?
The ban should start when the super 15 kicks off!
@Pokkel (Comment 3) : bissie was pissed before the knock in the ballas…from the weekend before against province.
@PTAShark (Comment 4) : with a hammer!! 😈 😉
@Original Pierre (Comment 7) :
Correct.. there really is no point in citing him. Should he be found guilty, he cant play for the next however weeks. And thats bugger all, COZ THE BULLS LOST!!!
OK the ban won’t help. A nut punch and a nutsack kick then. Bismarck has the option to cede the kick to Frans Steyn if he wants to. No ban neccesary, coz Kuun will be bleeding from his eyes.
Don’t ban him, just make him donate a testicle to CANSA charity.
@PTAShark (Comment 11) :
And talking in a Minnie Mouse voice for the next 2 months..
they could hand out a lengthy ban to cover until the start of the next season (+x weeks). Its been done before. The roulette wheel of ban lengths will spin again anyway, so pointless even saying what we think/want lol. Last week Martin Williams got cited and only got 2 week ban for knee dropping Chris Patterson in the head when he was prone. Farcicle.

@Richard Ferguson (Comment 10) : Apparently his ban can be deferred to next years Super 15.
Even if the ban starts now it goes on his record. If he did the crime he deserves to be cited so that the next time he is cited his disciplinary record will be taken into account.
Gees punching the guy on the head. 🙄 That deserves a suspension. 😛
Ban him now… This will allow Ludeke to be stupid enough and pick him in the first games of the Super15. Because any team Dick Kuun is playing in, is a seriously weakened team………..
Sorry.
dERick Kuun..
Forgot the ER.
The hearing has been delayed and will be in Tshwane at 2pm on Friday.
@lostfish (Comment 19) : Any reason given
@KSA Shark © (Comment 20) : SNAFU gave no reason for the delay. http://bit.ly/c0ArEg
youtube clip of the incident… http://youtu.be/FApEzw_Zgmw
@lostfish (Comment 21) :
I see on 365 they say SARU confirmed that his suspension can be deferred if found guilty.
Blue Bulls flank Derick Kuün’s disciplinary hearing for striking Sharks hooker Bismarck du Plessis during Saturday’s epic Currie Cup semifinal clash in Durban has been delayed until Friday.
Kuün was expected to attend a SARU judicial committee hearing in Cape Town on Tuesday.
SARU have confirmed that the hearing will now take place in Pretoria on Friday, but gave no reason for the delay.
The 26-year-old was cited under Law 10.4 (a) for striking Du Plessis during the 56th minute of the game.
The Sharks won the semifinal 16-12, and had the Bulls won and progressed into the Currie Cup Final, Kuün may well have lived to rue the incident even more.
SARU’s legal manager, Christo Ferreira, confirmed to rugby365.com that should Kuün be found guilty, his suspension could be deferred to the start of next year’s Super 15 tournament.
@KSA Shark © (Comment 23) : Good news. Hope they throw the book at him!
Having said that, Bulls have so many flankers available, would they really miss him?
wasn’t that the 2nd time he was sited in the CC 😕
Kuun was found not guilty 🙄
@lostfish (Comment 26) : what a surprise… first they move the hearing to his home town, then let him off. Bet you if it was Bismarck he’d have gotten 6 months
@robdylan (Comment 27) : I was expecting something because in the video you can see his hand moving in that direction and then he tries to kick as well. What goes around comes around…
The citing commision wheel of fortune random ban generator spins again…
round and round she goes…
where she stop nobody knows…
zero!!!!!
What a joke… 👿
