South Africa take on Pakistan in the second and last test match in Dubai. Follow live updates here.
South Africa will be seeking revenge after the Pakistan team managed a draw in the first test.
South African team:
Graeme Smith
Alviro Petersen
Hashim Amla
Jacques Kallis
AB de Villiers
Ashwell Prince
Mark Boucher
Johan Botha
Paul Harris
Dale Steyn
Morne Morkel

Lets go
Steyn gets a wicket off the first ball of the day ❗
What a beaut!!
We should be able to take the rest quickly now, that was their only recognised batsman left!
Morning gents!! 🙂
Score please!! 😈
Morning,
332 for 7
Pak 332/7 after 110 overs
Pakistan are still 252 runs behind.
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 3) : Agreed, its only a matter of time
This will end up in a draw 🙄
@Jarson (AddicteD) (Comment 8) :
Don’t be negative bru!!
Where’s that fighting spirit??? 😕
Pak 347/7 after 115 overs
SA lead by 237 runs
It looks like the follow on will not happen.
@Jarson (AddicteD) (Comment 8) :
There is still 170 odd overs left dude..
SA will come out smashing and then leave themselves another day to try bowl them out.
We can only try!
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 10) : Uless we get a hatrick now! 😀
Harris strikes!!!
Pak 353/8
We shall see 😉
2 wickets in the next 32 runs and SA can enforce the follow on.
Question is, will Smith do it?
Harris to Umar Gul, OUT, plays one sweep too many, round the wicket, tossed up, he bent low to sweep it square, missed, it didn’t turn at all, struck him on the pads and he was caught plumb. But replays show it flicked his glove on the way to the pad, we need to take a look at it again. Was very close to the glove as he went for the sweep, should the umpire have given him the benefit of the doubt? Close call, really close call upon watching the replay
Pak 353/8 after 120 overs
31 runs to get two wickets
Pak 378/8 after 125 overs
2 wickets and only 6 runs to go..
Pak set to avoid the follow on.
They just smacked a 6
Harris smacked for a six amd the follow on is avoided.
Now SA need to get these wickets quick and get out there and smash a few quick runs.
Like I said, a draw 🙂
Pak bring up their 400.
SA lead by 184 runs..
Pak 408/8 after 134 overs
SA lead by 176 runs
I hate the subcontinent. Draws, draws, draws.
Pak 412/8 at LUNCH
SA lead by 172 runs
We seem to struggle to wrap up a tail through stupid bowling. How often do we see 3 slips and a gulley, but the bowlers bowling middle and leg? Or a silly mid-on and short leg for a spinner, who then bowls full tosses or long hops? 😯
No wonder our test record is at 124 wins and 123 losses.
Lets see: Pak will score between 450 and 500, SA will then bat to get a lead of at least 300 to 350 and hopelessly try and bowl Pak out. In other words: A DRAW
We draw so often because Smith is as tactically astute as a scallop.
@Big Fish (Comment 28) : This wasn’t just Smith, he’s coach was sitting right next to him when he called a AB in for the declare.
414/9
@Big Fish (Comment 28) : But I agree with you still!
@Big Fish (Comment 28) : 106 draws to be precise.
434 all out. SA lead 150 and about 45 overs left in the day.
Why is smith not opening the batting ? is he injured ?
bet you SA don’t win…
He has done it! Graeme Smith has set a new world record for finger injuries as a professional sportsman – Off to celebrate with an x-ray – thebounce
@Clayton(PJLD) (Comment 36) : He is going to have the most messed up hands ever. Have you seen old cricketers hands? Worse than old rugby players feet.
@lostfish (Comment 37) : Yes dude, that hands going to be useless before long
@lostfish (Comment 37) : or Wahl Bartmann’s ears…
@robdylan (Comment 39) : those ears are awful
@robdylan (Comment 39) : You mean like cauliflower fingers?
@rhineshark (Comment 41) : 🙂
So the only thing to come out of this game is that ab couldve scored a triple ton..
Amla 50 off 46 balls
@Big Fish (Comment 28) : Off cricinfo.
Nothing in the conditions, No swing, no movement, very limited turn.
aaah crap amla out for 62
Kallis needs to get in a bit quicker
AB also out
Mohammad Hafeez to Kallis, OUT, trying to step up and finds square leg, short and he had shaped up for the pull, didn’t get the elevation he wanted, mistimed it straight to Taufeeq Umar who took a neat catch
JH Kallis c Taufeeq Umar b Mohammad Hafeez 10 (37b 0x4 0x6) SR: 27.02
SA 153/4
Leading by 304 runs now
@Clayton(PJLD) (Comment 49) : Kallis never really got going 10 runs off 37 balls
Hopefully Boucher will pick the run rate up a bit.
Sheesh, these paki spinners are choking the life out of us.
Why aren’t we trying to up the tempo? 11 Runs from like 50 balls. Boucher and Prince. That’s pathetic. Get it going guys.
@Letgo (Comment 53) : They are struggling to play the spinners. 11 runs from the last 10 overs… perhaps the 12th man has just told them to start slogging.
