Richie McCaw was last night crowned IRB Player of the Year for 2010, winning this crown for the second year in a row, and for the third time after winning it in 2006 as well, capping off a brilliant night for the New Zealand team.
McCaw beat home team mate Mills Muliaina, South Africa’s most capped player Victor Matfield, France No. 8 Imanol Harinordoquy and Australia’s David Pocock and Kurtley Beale.
Coach Graham Henry got Coach of the Year for a record fourth time, and his team won the Team of the Year award as well, making it an All Black night at the awards.

I personally think he deserved to win it..
So did Henry..
So did the team for that matter..
where was the ceremony?
These awards are more corrupt than the awardind of the SWC on methylenedioxymethamphetamine
Btw I just read an article that the All Cheats are complaining to Paddy about the scrum. They going back to the golden oldies of not pushing in the scrum, so they don’t get penalized. Next we going to get uncontested scrums and 22 backline players picked 4a team.
Well done McCaw, Henry and the best team in the world. Greatly deserved.
He probably deserved it this year but there’s no way he was the World’s best player last year and neither was Shane Williams the year before. 🙄
No surprise here. He fully deserved it.
@wpw (Comment 5) : Hello Boet!! Hoe gaan dit? Jy is skaars deesdae.
Personally thought Pocock deserved it more but thats just me.
I really thought Matfield would have won COACH of the year?
@CS (Comment 9) :
Lol. But after the season he’s had he should just be happy to still have a job!
@CS (Comment 9) : 😈
