The most important week for the Super Rugby supporter

The most important week of the Super Rugby supporter’s season is upon us!

With only seven days to go to kick off it, is very important that these seven days are used to the fullest for preparation of the long, but great season ahead. So here is a guide to the following seven days…………

1. Get on the roof. Make sure that the dish is properly secure. You never know what the weather will throw at you.

2. Go to town! Yes I know we men don’t like that, but it’s necessary to stock up on some supplies that will be much needed in our time of sportenation. (Something similar to hibernation.)

3. Very importantly, you have to take your car for a service. It will be fatal if transport problems prevent you from being where the action is.

4. Make sure that the gardener actually knows the program and his responsibilities to keep the outside in shape. Remember, there will be a seasonal change even with your absence so he must be prepared to handle that.

5. Finances: make sure to get all accounts and responsibilities on self-sustaining processes – there will not be time to sort these things out. You can make a trip to the bank to appoint someone to look after these nitty gritty unnecessary time consuming “things”.

6. A day spent to go through all the housekeeping and maintenance on the house itself will be in your best interest. Since there is not going to be time to solve any crisis, it’s better to prevent them now. Maybe try to find a good handyman, one that does not know what sport is, to be on standby…. you just never know.

7. At this point it will also be helpful to contact relatives and loved ones 0 especially the older generation – and inform them that weddings, new born babies, graduations, serious illnesses and even deaths must be on hold because your availability can not be guaranteed.

8. Then the most important of all….. your partner……….. that’s now the wife/girlfriend/lover. Here you must be sure to secure a great relationship. Make sure the bond is good because the fight will come and both off you need to be strong through this time.

9. Number nine I will leave open and up to you! Add and share with us, to make sure that noting is forgotten or left unattended …………

  • Just regarding point 7, it would also help to discourage any family WHO ARE NOT INTO RUGBY from visiting during this all important and stressfull time.

Also move one of the fridges to your tv room if you haven`t got a bar setup in your house. This will cut “beer run” time in half.

  • Correction to point EIGHT:

    8. Then the most important of all….. your partner……….. that’s now the wife/girlfriend/lover. Here you must be sure to secure a great relationship. Make sure the bond is good because the fight will come and both off you need to be strong through this time.

Please change it to wife / girlfriend / lover / Boyfriend / husband…..Some woman also have trouble with the not so fair sex when it comes to rugby time! 😈

    10. Visit your local Dr today and grab his “sick note” pad when he does not look – it might cost you one consultation but Plenty of Friday’s paid sick leave! (PS – Brush up on writing really ugly and some medical terms) 😀
