One of the year’s biggest sporting events is upon us, and we thought it only fair to create a thread for the cricket enthusiasts on the site to have their say and give updates as to what is going on in the Cricket World Cup.

Today sees the opening game between the co-hosts of the Cup this year, with the mighty (and favourites to lift the trophy) India taking on Bangladesh in their own backyard. Mirpur is Bangladesh’s most successful ODI venue with 18 victories recorded at the ground.

  • I’m very surprised that India could not bowl out Bangladesh.

I know Bangladesh are playing at home, but you would expect a bit of a better bowling performance from India. That said, what a great batting display by Sehwag. Enjoyed his knock thoroughly, just bummed I didn’t have him in my fantasy league.
