After their fantastic win over hosts India, the Proteas will be confident in their match against the Irish.

Rumour around is that AB de Villiers will be sitting out this match after hurting his thigh. Morne van Wyk will take the gloves. It will be interesting to see who comes into the team.

  • that sucks; that AB is out – I see the next two games as a great opportunity to pile on the runs for both his WC stats and for the team.

  • If we bat first then we will score 380 and win by 300
if we bowl first (I hope not) then we will get Ireland out for 80 and get that score without loosing a wicket before the 12th over
    How aggressive is that?
However – it is St Patrick’s Day this week (17th), hmmm.

  • Pitch Report: Ian Botham says there is some live grass on the pitch, and some bare areas as well. He says it looks full of runs, though it might be a bit two-paced, and the team that wins the toss should bat first.

Hopefully Kallis digs in and bats through with others chipping in.

This wicket is unpredictable imo and with the odd ball skidding on and staying very low its difficult.

Anything over 220 sould be defendable if the wicket doesn’t change ..
