The Crusaders v Sharks Investec Super Rugby match at Twickenham in London on Sunday, March 27, is proving extremely popular, with more than 16,000 tickets selling in the first 30 hours.
A United Kingdom Ticketmaster spokesman said it was the strongest response to a rugby match outside an international that he had experienced.
It is the first time that a Super Rugby match has been played outside of the SANZAR countries and has
come together following the February earthquake in Christchurch which damaged AMI Stadium.
A percentage of each ticket sold will go towards the Christchurch earthquake recovery appeal.
Tickets for the match can be bought from www.ticketmaster.co.uk

I’d love to go, but since I’m in Pretoria it’s a bit difficult…
I hope the fill the stadium π
π
Very good news..
The more money they raise the better..
What’s the stadium’s capacity?
82 000 capacity π and Β£5 from every ticket purchased goes to the charity π and i’ll be purchasing my tickets tomorrow am as soon as i’m paid ! π Sharks Forever π
@Ben (Comment 5) : 82000 for rugger.
Afaik, only about 2 thirds of the stadium will be used.
@SharkyTaylor (Comment 6) : there were talking about reduced capacity – I seem to recall ..
@SharkyTaylor (Comment 6) : hopefully it’s before 27 π
@rekinek (Comment 9) : Reduced to 55 000 for the match.
@SharonvanWyk (Comment 7) : how many people came to see Bokke vs Abs at Soccer City. Wasn’t it supposed to be 90 K
I’ve never bought a hot cake.
@McLovin (Comment 11) : so 16K is only about 29% sold. Hope it will get better and better π
I wish I could go. Maybe next time. Perhaps if this game is a success with ticket sales it could happen again.
@McLovin (Comment 13) : there is always a first time π
16000 tickets is Β£80000. If they sell 55000 that’s Β£275000. That’s a nice sum for the appeal from one game.
@lostfish (Comment 17) : yip.
@McLovin (Comment 13) :
Hahaha!!!
Nice feeling knowing i’m going to watch the Sharks and all for a good cause π
@SharkyTaylor (Comment 20) : i may go to Lions vs Force. It’s also for good cause – to protect the species on brink of extension π
Think all 55 000 seats will be sold. Real pity it was reduced to 55 000 seater. Still great. Wish I could be there for the first ever SuperRugby game to be held in the NH.
Hope for a dry day. Should be a cracking game this.
Good luck Sharks.
@rekinek (Comment 12) : That was not a horrible experience.Even though the Bokke lost that game I’d go again and again.
@rekinek (Comment 21) : Mwahaha π
its great to say that if i was there i would of gone but its good to know that the Sharks are part of the fund raisning they should have by some means got a sponcer for each try by the sharks they get so much money sth like they are doing or did on 94.2 with Morne at the Bulls π
@SharkyTaylor (Comment 20) :
Nice news ! π
Well folks , i purchased my tickets this morning at 5am π― and i’m taking my 10yr old son who’s never seen the Sharks play live and my Dad , who used to take me to Kingsmead to watch the Sharks when i was a lightie and we lived in Durbs by the Sea π SHARKS FOREVER

@SharkyTaylor (Comment 28) : π
@SharkyTaylor (Comment 28) : DOH π π That should read KINGSPARK and not Kingsmead , hope you can all forgive the slip , but in my defence i was watching some cricket while typing , so my mind naturally swapped the Stadium names π³ π³
