Yet again we have a mouthwatering clash to end off the weekend.
Mentioning a possible Stormers win at Loftus 2 weeks ago would have seen you being called a lunatic. Now that the Bulls’ fortress has been breached it is ready to be breached again. The Stormers will carry on where they left off against the Highlanders last week, only the margin will be bigger this week.
Okay it worked for the Cheetahs this morning let’s see if it works for the Bulls tonight. 😀

1st win at Loftus since 2003. 😯 😯 😯 😯
Bulls 2nd loss at loftus this season 😯
Well Done Stormers.
Stormers top the combined and SA log.
Great stuff Stormers!
Not going to stop smiling for a week. 😀 😀 😀
@KSA Shark © (Comment 42) : I guess a win is a win, but I am not entirely convinced that the Stormers victory was earned or handed to them by one of the crappiest performances I have ever seen from the Bulls. Well done to them, nonetheless, but I have said it before and will say it again, the Bulls just are not cohesive this season. They seem to have lost their famous blue ‘nads and replaced them with wads of girly cotton wool which evidently keep slipping out of their shorts when they run too fast. And Morne Steyn’s kicking made SuperPat look like an absolute Olympian among ants… Could this be the beginning of the end for Morne the machine?

@SharonvanWyk (Comment 45) :
A performance or two more like that and PdV might have to start rethinking his policy of using experienced players. I think the Bulls’ experience is being changed for a rapidly approaching expiry date.
So happy for Habana scoring a try. 😎
@KSA Shark © (Comment 46) : Could not agree with you more. I think there is a large amount of complacency among certain “experienced” players which could end up costing us dearly later on this year unless selectors wake up and smell some newer, perkier roses.
3 from 7 and not a single margin point. This was a bad round 😳
G’night everyone… early to bed tonight… got a (rather damp) Top Gear festival to go to tomorrow so am hitting the old sackerooney to get my beauty sleep. Laters!
Great Victory for The Stormers, but bigger worries for SA rugby…
Many capped boks and current first choice contracted boks in the mix in this game, handling and tactics poor – watch this space…
😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
I thought it was a cracking game. Brutal and physical.
Definitely there’s evidence of the Bulls playing from last year’s playbook and I do hope they adapt soon.
I also marvel that Pierre Spies got shown up yet again when the game got physical.
Hats off to the Stormers tight five and to young Elstadt. Toe to toe with the colossal Bakkies. Might you be his successor one day?
Happy for Bryan. It doesnt much disguise his other handling errors on the day but it’s moving in the right direction. A magnificent poach from Basson. Habs will be back.
De Jongh is a beaut, isnt he? Could see immediate injection of something when he came on. Thought Fourie and de Villers had solid games, would love to see a few more tackles in the offload from Jean but suppose that’s as much a function of the runners around him.
All in all, wins a win. And against the Bulls at Loftus. And now topping the log. All in all a very good day at the office and it says much that this team is undefeated and where they are and they’re not even really playing good rugby.
@VinChainSaw (Comment 53) : Just a further indication that Spies WAS on juice. He can’t run over players anymore and he he can’t tackle them backwards anymore.
Still happy.
🙂 😀
🙂 😀
🙂 😀
🙂 😀
@McLovin (Comment 55) :
and I’m still smiling because the bulss lost again! Fortress Loftus is falling. 🙂
I am happy that bakkies got cited again.
Looks like Habana has dropped his i-must-intercept-every-ball approach and it’s doing his game good. Not back to his best at all but better than his recent form.
@MysticShark (Comment 58) : I dont agree entirely…thought he had a shocker and scrappy game – but the try was really good…guess that will put oogklappe on PDiv again and he will be in the Starting XV for the boks…something he defnitely does not deserve at present….for the last at least 1,5 years in fact…
