Can you believe week 13 of the inaugural Super 15 has come and gone and we are in the business end of the tournament now? Only five games left to play before the quarters semiβs and finals!
Thanks must go to Windhoek Lager for sponsoring this weekly Team. We will have a Team of the Year competition at the end of the season, so make sure to take note of certain players who consistently make the team.

15 : Two names stand out in a good week for SA teams Jaco Taute and Riaan Viljoen. Both were really impressive and because of that try we have gone for Jaco Taute
14: Only one player to stand out and in spite of the yellow card we chose Gio Aplon
13; Robert Ebersohn had a fantastic game both on attack and defence. He also went to ground to get the ball on the floor
12: Meisiekind Olivier get the nod. Three tries what more can you say about that? Just wish he would pass the ball!!!
11: Bjorn Basson has really put up his hand this year and Bryan Habana has to up his game or he will be playing second fiddle to the Bulls player
10: Two players stand out from the weekend Elton Jantjies and Sias Ebersohn and to separate them performance wise was very difficult. Both were equally brilliant and only because of they finally won a game Elton Jantjies gets the nod
9: Sarel Pretorius was brilliant Fourie was second best
8: Josh Strauss led from the front and was the fulcrum on which the Lions victory was built.
Have they found a man that the troups will rally around like another Wahl Bartmann?
7: Ashley Johnson had a fantastic game and stood head and shoulders above any other SA 7 on the day
6: Deon Stegmann won everything on the ground like a good number 6 should. The Sharks will have to be on top of him on Saturday or it will be a long afternoon for them
5: Danie Roussow had his best game for the Bulls for a long while and showed what he cando
4: Wicus Van Heerden. If Strauss was the fulcrum of the Lions victory then Van Heerden was the heartbeat. He does not know how to give anything less than 110%
3: WP Nel . Made the Saders stars look 2nd division!
2: Adriaan Strauss Now that he is back you can see what the Cheetahs missed
1: Coenie Oosterhuisen The Sharks have BEEEAST the Bulls have SPIEEEEES the Cheetahs COOOEEENIE

TRY OF THE WEEK: Johnson’s heart breaker or Taute’s fantastic one – you choose
MVP Ashley Johnson
If you have any comments/ complaints/suggestions my office is on the 32 floor and the lift donβt work!

lots of cheetahs, hey!
@robdylan (Comment 1) : As there should be. Sias was head and shoulders better than EJ, he should definitely have gotten the nod. Glad Danie got it for his performance in the 5 jersey, he was superb, and showed what an incredibly versatile player he is, being able to produce international performances in the 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 jersey.
Admittedly I did only watch the first half of the Brumbies/Lions match, but I was so bored from the terrible rugby, I could just not bring myself to watch the second half. Both Brumbies and Lions were terrible on the day, well in the first half anyway.
What? No SuperPat at 10. Ek kan dit nie glo nie… π―
@wpw (Comment 4) : He should be there based on his performances when he was out injured. π
π
@wpw (Comment 4) : I am probably going to get shot for saying this here, but Sias was as good against the Crusaders as Lambie has been at his best against weaker opposition. (Time to run and duck now)
OMG! Dude, you clearly didn’t get the memo.
Sharks supporters are not allowed to criticize SuperPat! π
Anybody watching reunion? What’s the dudes name with the mustache? Darn he is irritating.
@wpw (Comment 7) : hahaha
agree with all of them except aplon ,he was winning me over untill that chiefs game ,he got brushed away in defence more than a few times, fantastic try probably the best scored by the stormers this season.Would have gone with rian smit-the cheetahs one wing
@Mocho (Comment 8) : Ken Laban.
@wpw (Comment 7) : Here is my problem Wes, after 25 years working for the same organization, I have finally managed to get my name off of every single mailing list the organization has. It has done wonders for my inbox, but I am afraid I never get the memos. π Besides, Rob said I have been away from SA and SA Rugby for so long that I can say anything I want and nobody will listen to me anyway. π π
Anyway, both Sias and Robert’s contracts expire the end of this season, so they will both be Sharks in 2012! π
@McLovin (Comment 11) : Osama Ken Laban???? π
@wpw (Comment 7) :
@Dancing Bear (Comment 12) :
You guys know nuffing!
Pat is better than Dan Carter! π
@Big Fish (Comment 14) : I know I know nuffing, which is why Rob said I could say anything I want and nobody would listen anyway! π π
@Big Fish (Comment 14) : Pat is also a better fullback than Mils and a better 12 than SBW! π
@Dancing Bear (Comment 13) : Apparently the Navy Seals stormed a big department store the other day. They heard there was ‘Summer bed linen’ on the 3rd floor. π
@McLovin (Comment 17) : Do you blame them? I hate sleeping on flannel sheets in the summer! π
@Dancing Bear (Comment 16) :
LOL
To be fair, Pat is playing outside a 9 who can’t kick and is struggling with 2nd season syndrome and a pair of centres who desperately need to ask Stella how she got her groove back.
@Big Fish (Comment 19) : oooooo, you brought Stella and her groove into the discussion. Nice work BF π
Seriously though, Pat is also going through a bit of the sophomore blues this year. He is class though, and will be the future of SA Rugby, not Sias or EJ.
Lets hope next weeks team of the week is packed with Sharks players. GO SHRAKS!!!!
Pat Lambie will surely make the team of the week next week. After outshining and outclassing Marlie Steyn.
@Ben (Comment 22) : I really hope you are right. It would be awesome if SuperPat can have a massive game like in the final last year and knock the Bulls back out of contention.
@Viking (Comment 23) : Would like nothing more.
@Ben (Comment 24) : I see Vlok is saying that Steyn’s kicking boot is what will give them the edge. I think it is safe to assume then that they will employ their standard kicking game on Saturday instead of opting for a running game like they did against the Rebels. I also suspect that Steyn is practicing his drop as well…
@Viking (Comment 25) : Yip Steyn is a girl he likes to get rid of the ball as soon as possible. π
@Ben (Comment 26) : Hopefully Alberts and Deysel can help him with that π
@Viking (Comment 27) : Now that I would pay to see! π
Josh Strauss @ number eight is a gem; and like the good old days warriors respect their leader if he has a man beard… The beard is a massive psychological thing of awesomeness…
