We get the evening session of rugby off to a good start with the Sharks facing the Waratahs in their last home game of the season at Kings Park this afternoon. This is a match that both teams desperately need to win to stay in touch with the play-offs and a loss for either team could well mean the end of the road.
The Sharks announced a strong squad with a few tweaks from the team that lost to the Bulls last weekend, with Keegan Daniel back from his suspension and jumping straight into the eighthman jersey, giving Willem Alberts a well deserved break. The team will be lead by John Smit from loosehead as he puches Beast Mtawarira to the reserves bench. In a shocking move, Conrad Hoffmann finally gets a start in place of Charl McLeod.
The Waratahs had an early week scare with Berrick Barnes borderline with some sort of concussion, which turned out to be nothing more than a bit of memory loss and he will be starting at flyhalf. Dangermen on the Waratahs side include Kurtley Beale, who is an attacking mastermind and will have to kept a close eye on, as well as Luke Burgess who has been in great form and faces starting debutant Hoffmann, which could be rather tricky.
The match kicks off at 17h10 and I predict a Sharks victory by around 5 points.

Lucky try for the Waratah’s ruined the half: Mcleod can’t be blamed for the blind flick back – he knew the clean break meant no cleaners would get to him in time to secure the ball if he placed it.
