The Cheetahs have announced their team to face the Sharks this weekend in Bloemfontein with two changes to the starting line up that lost to the Bulls last weekend. Kabamba Floors has been ruled out through injury and is replaced by Johan Wessels while Hennie Daniller comes into fullback with Riaan Viljoen shifting to the wing to replace Riaan Smit.
The front row has been in great form lately, specifically captain Adriaan Strauss leading his team with admiration, while their loose forward have been on a mental high of note, especially Ashley Johnson.
In the backline, the addition of Daniller and having two fullbacks in the back three will make kicking a last choice as they will punish the Sharks at high altitude. Sias Ebersohn will enjoy facing Pat Lambie in a battle of the young flyhalf heats up.
Cheetahs: 1. Coenie Oosthuizen, 2. Adriaan Straus (Capt), 3. W.P. Nel, 4. Francois Uys, 5. Martin Muller, 6. Johan Wessels, 7. Ashley Johnson, 8. Davon Raubenheimer, 9. Sarel Pretorius, 10. Sias Ebersohn, 11. Philip Snyman, 12. Corne Uys, 13. Robert Ebersohn, 14. Riaan Viljoen, 15. Hennie Daniller
Substitutes: 16. Ryno Barnes, 17. Lourens Adriaanse, 18. Izak van der Westhuizen, 19. Pieter Myburgh, 20. Tewis de Bruyn, 21. Naas Olivier, 22. Riaan Smit

Strong team! But the Sharks can topple them if they keep their wits about and work on those basic errors that have been creeping in over the past few weeks. Alberts to be on Johnson radar the whole game!
cheetahs have a weak lineout….sharks can hone in here, must compete. A dilemma as Sharks need a strong scrum to lay a platform, but also need bissy to play as I assume the sharks loose trio will be Daniels, Alberts and Kanko….if so Bissys skills at the breakdown will be needed to combat Wessels, an out and out fetcher in the Brussow mould….Sharks will be more desperate and take this by 6 to 12 imo
play smit off bench…not at prop…
I’m keen to see Johan Wessels starting. He was a bright prospect a couple of years back and then disappeared in 2010. Was he injured?
@beet (Comment 4) : I agree….a really good prospect…..I think with Brussow there he basically played 2 nd team, but an out and out fetcher and sharks will need to fight fire with fire at the breakdowns…..thats why if Botes does not start Bissy a must….imo.
I’ve got an idea that the sharks not gonna fiddel with their team. Alberts coming in for deysel and kanko on bench, someone replacing charl on bench.
@franshark (Comment 6) : gee… Who could they put on the bench to cover scrummie? 🙂
@robdylan (Comment 7) : 😛
FREDDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did anyone notice the #19 on the bench? I would have thought he would have gone back to the Stormers when back in SA.
@KSA Shark © (Comment 8) : he can cover scrummie with a 12 on his back, that’l please me more…
VRYSTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!
@Loosehead (Comment 11) : don’t loose your head there dude 🙂
@Loosehead (Comment 11) : Ah crap. You again.
@Loosehead (Comment 11) : Hello Coenie!!
Anyone know who`s gonna ref this one for us? < holds thumbs for Mark Lawrence > 😈
We will have to play really well and finish our opportunities if we want to win this one. The Cheetahs has really been on form the last couple of weeks. Going to be a great spectacle.
Is there any substance to the rumour that Ruan Pienaar is available to the Sharks until the European starts again ❓
@Original Pierre (Comment 14) : Mark Lawrence it is.
@Ragged (Comment 16) : No there isn’t.
