I know I’m being a little cheeky using our site for this but I’ve never been accused of being conservative in my actions. I need your help. My sense of colour really sucks.
I am wanting to buy myself one of the limited edition RWC 2011 watches, but being a guy my sense of fashion or colour is about as good as my sense of diplomacy. And rather then walk aroung town looking like a total dork, I have decided to ask for some help in trying to choose a colour.
Black I presume is for New Zealand, but DOES look very cool, White is for England maybe and looks slightly iffy, Green I think is for the Springboks, but looks more than just a bit iffy. Then again as I’ve said my sense of colour sucks. Do I go for timeless black, I wanna be cool white or you can’t miss me Green?
Check out the Official RWC merchandise shop, there are some cool things in there.

π³ help.
I vote black!
They look like lucky packet watches. The black one looks to be the not so baddest one + you can say it’s coz you support the Sharks hence black
@beet (Comment 3) : That is a concern I have, but I think it is because the straps are rubber and the photo isn’t very high res.
One of each? Then you have one for every occasion!
They are all ugly but the least ugly would be the black. You could buy an ice watch and get a RWC shirt π
@lostfish (Comment 6) : β Ice watch?
Evening
i would go for Black as beet say its the colour of the sharks and it always goes with the guy thing white is just going to get dirty and green its a nice colour but no for guys but that is me
enjoy which ever one you choose
i like kiwi http://www.rwcshop.com/Product/7260/RWC-Kiwi-Small
although lamb and smiley ball hanger also look extremely cute π π
@beet (Comment 3) : same argument would go for white.
KSA – go for white – hands down .
@KSA Shark Β© (Comment 7) : quite funky thing – made from either silicon or plastic and from faraway look like lego blocks but from close a bit less exciting.
Black is too boring guys .
@rekinek (Comment 12) : true
ok KSA go for white π
@KSA Shark Β© (Comment 7) : http://ice-watch.com/watch.php
@rekinek (Comment 9) : they even have Winking Ball Boy Hanger π―
Black!
@rekinek (Comment 14) : Cool. Doesn’t look to bad actually.
@KSA Shark Β© (Comment 17) : noop – actually somewhat similar to these RWC ones. As far as I remember the one I saw where from 800 bucks to over a grand and it didn’t feel such a great value for money. This ones are at least half the price.
@KSA Shark Β© (Comment 17) : I only saw that now. Someone didn’t want to stay asleep…
I like the ice watches, they are funky and bright and I have always been into watches. I have about 40 watches and my husband just laughs now when I come home with a new one π
I lile the Black & White. The green is gross π
Black!
But I don’t even where watches so what do I know. And back then when I did I only wore digital ones.
@Ben (Comment 22) : My watches are always black and silver or black or silver but never gold, I dont like yellow/red gold. White gold kinda looks like silver so that’s ok π
White will get dirty and look bad in no time. Black is classy, but it is a special watch, so you want people to notice it. So I vote green, if you are going to pay the money, make sure people see it.
If you want something as a specific reminder of the World Cup, go green. If your intention is to continue with daily use, go black, it’s less likely to date, and of course there’s the Sharks connotation. But what do I know, I’m also sartorially challenged, so my wife has to dress me if we have to appear in public
sartorially… π Between you and Sharon the guys are getting a huge vocab boost on SW every day. π
I would say black, but although I think the white is very “funky”. It looks “with the times”.
Have you seen the Ice watches? They are very cool (pun intended) – if I am correct they advertise them on the back of the Sharks mags every month as well.
@Ice (Comment 27) : http://ice-watch.com/
Green, it will help in finding you when you go missing after old age sets in, in about 50 years time.
@Ice (Comment 28) : somebody didn’t read the comments π π
take a black one, and paint a white stripe through it… π π
@Salmonoid (Comment 29) : It is going to happen in a LOT less than 50 years time π
@rekinek (Comment 30) : My thoughts exactly. π
@rekinek (Comment 30) : Sorry Reksie… π
@VanWilder (Comment 31) :
@KSA Shark Β© (Comment 32) : I assumed that too, but thought Id cut you some slack with everyone around here calliing you oubaas.
If you are going to wear it quite a bit go wtih Black.Los the white.Green is ok
@Ice (Comment 34) : Sorry Ice, I stole your thunder π
@waje (Comment 24) : you’re supposed to clean your things from time to time π
So KSA how does it work – are you gonna count the votes (minus these sartorially challenged π ) or are you going to accept expert opinion of those who picked white π
@lostfish (Comment 38) : I’ll share it with you…this time… π
@rekinek (Comment 40) : I’ll share a secret with you. π I am testing the water for what to use as 2nd Prize for a RWC competition.
“I” have decided on what colour I’m getting before putting up the article. π
@rekinek (Comment 39) : Guys don’t coat everything with moisturisers that stops dirt sticking. Guys do the DIY to earn their right to watch rugby on a Saturday.
@KSA Shark Β© (Comment 42) : Oh in that case black, I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing a green watch. π π
@waje (Comment 43) : That so? Well, I don’t have a “guy” to do anything for me other than rub my back, massage my feet and run to the kitchen for me when I am watching rugby on a Saturday, which I have earned the right to by working hard and earning the money to a) pay for the house the TV sits in, b) pay for the TV, c) pay for the DSTV and d) pay someone else to do the DIY!!!
π
@waje (Comment 43) : you know you can take off the watch for DIY π
@SharonvanWyk (Comment 45) : in my household i am the DIY person
@rekinek (Comment 47) : Me too! At least I know it gets done right and how I want it!
@SharonvanWyk (Comment 48) : in my case it does not necessarily mean that it gets done right but at least right now when I want it π
HEY!!!!!!!!!!! This is a rugby site, you two can’t be talking like that!!!!!!!!!!!!
@KSA Shark Β© (Comment 50) :
quote :
“PS: Please use this for your βkak praat threadβ ” .
@rekinek (Comment 51) : Se vir [email protected]KSA Shark Β© (Comment 50) :
@rekinek (Comment 51) : @diablo (Comment 52) :
Kak praat is kak praat, but saying men are incapable of following instructions and following them on time is just plain LIES!!!!!!!
@Jarson (AddicteD) (Comment 20) : now that is a thought combind the two and we’ll have a Black and White and that is all that matters
@KSA Shark Β© (Comment 53) :
tell them
π
@KSA Shark Β© (Comment 53) : where did you read this π π
in fact Sharon seem to believe that men are capable of “rub my back, massage my feet and run to the kitchen for me”. To me that is definately a complement π
@rekinek (Comment 56) : That is also a lie.
well in my household anyway π
@KSA Shark Β© (Comment 53) : Perhaps they were talking about their men and not men in general π
@KSA Shark Β© (Comment 53) : True that – I work out a very harsh DYI schedule for my husband…and I stand with stop watch in hand and supervise – he’s really doing good.
@Ice (Comment 59) : lucky you π my half believes very strongly in Sharon’s point d) π fortunately my dad used to involved the whole family in his DIY , everybody would get some tool to hold
@KSA Shark Β© (Comment 57) : you need to work on your skills. There is still time π
@rekinek (Comment 60) : π³ should be “involve” instead “involved”.
The thingy does not allow me to edit my own comment πΏ
Ag you ladies are just not lucky enough to have a hubby like me. π
I’m good in the garage, good in the kitchen, good in the laundry, Good in the garden. In fact I’ll be good in any room of the house. π
