The Bulls have named a strong lineup to face the Sharks at Loftus Versveld this weekend, with the two Springboks who missed last week’s outing to Newlands back in the match 22.

Bakkies Botha comes straight back into the number 4 jersey after sitting out with a knee injury last week and will play his 100th Super Rugby game in the process. Scrumhalf Fourie du Preez, also struggling with a knee problem in recent weeks, has been named on the bench, with Francois Hougaard continuing in the number 9 jersey.

Chilliboy Rallepele will again start at hooker in a team boasting 17 test players in total.

Bulls:

Zane Kirchner, Gerhard van den Heever, Jaco Pretorius, Wynand Olivier, Bjorn Basson, Morne Steyn, Francois Hougaard, Pierre Spies, Dewald Potgieter, Deon Stegmann, Victor Matfield, Bakkies Botha, Werner Kruger, Chiliboy Ralepelle, Dean Greyling.
Reserves: Gary Botha, Rossouw de Klerk, Flip van der Merwe, Danie Rossouw, Fourie du Preez, Francois Brummer, Akona Ndungane.

  • That is a good side… Also think Danie R should possibly start at 7, but as an impact player off the bench he will counter the Sharks bench very well. Go Sharks! And go Brumbies! 😯

  • HEAD TO HEAD:

Zane Kirchner vs Louis Ludick – even
Gerhard van den Heever vs Mvovo – Mvovo (both need to look 4 work)
Jaco Pretorius vs Stefan Terblanche – even
Wynand Olivier vs Meyer Bosman – Meisiekind
Bjorn Basson vs JP Pietersen – on form even
Morne Steyn vs Patrick Lambie – on form even
Francois Hougaard vs Charl Mcleod – Hougaard
Pierre Spies vs Ryan Kankowski – Even
Dewald Potgieter vs Jean Deysel – Deysel
Deon Stegmann vs Keegan Daniel – Daniel for his energy
Victor Matfield vs Alistair Hargreaves – Big Vic dominates
Bakkies Botha vs Gerhard Mostert – Bakkies sneaks it on form
Werner Kruger vs Tendai Beast Mtawarira – Beast alround
Chiliboy Ralepelle vs Bismark Duplessis – Bissie going to huge
Dean Greyling vs Eugene Van Staden – Greyling shades it

John Smit might start at Loosehead though.
I think that if the Sharks can come out guns blazing and play territory in the 2nd half then we will take it. But it is a huge ask and our midfield will have to be solid.

Ill be very tempted to play

    10. Michalak
    12. Lambie
    13. Adi Jacobs
    15. Stefan Terblanche – Cpatain
