As expected, Dewald Duvenage has failed to recover from a quad strain and won’t be featuring for the Stormers this weekend.
This has led to a bit of a shuffle of the original 22, with Louis Schreuder being elevated to the starting 15, and Nic Groom coming in on the bench. With no Duvenhage there is no flyhalf cover, which means Allister Coetzee has opted to bring Earl Rose onto the bench in place of Conrad Jantjes where he will provide specialist cover for flyhalf and fullback, hopefully Peter Grant will last the full 80 in his first start in over a month.
Amended 22:

11 – Bryan Habana
10 – Peter Grant
9 – Louis Schreuder
8 – Duane Vermeulen
7 – Francois Louw
6 – Schalk Burger (c)
5 – Andries Bekker
4 – Rynhardt Elstadt
3 – Brok Harris
2 – Tiaan Liebenberg
1 – Wicus Blaauw
Bench: Deon Fourie, Frans Malherbe, Anton Van Zyl, Nick Koster, Nic Groom, Johann Sadie, Earl Rose

Where is Ricky?
@Pokkel (Comment 1) : Sadly he injured his hand 😈
Sarel Pretorius must be smiling 😉
@Pokkel (Comment 3) : nah, he’s gonna get crunched by our loosies anyway 😈
No one got anything to say about Earl Rose being back?
@molly (Comment 2) : Injured his hand? Fridge door slam shut?
😉
@molly (Comment 5) : Quite a bit of poetic license you took there by calling him a “specialist” 😉
I would have thought that Jantjes was more than sufficient cover at 10 surely.
@KSA Shark © (Comment 6) :
Nah it must have been a ‘drive through’ accident at KFC while he was racing from the pay point to the pickup point. 😈
@KSA Shark © (Comment 7) : haha, I actually stole the word from the Stormers site… a little generous perhaps.
@KSA Shark © (Comment 7) : I think its kicking for posts that he might have issues, he has been standing in the 10 channel quite a bit lately.
@molly (Comment 10) :
Jantjes? I suppose that is a valid point Duvenhage was brought on last week to solve the goal kick issue.
When Grant goes off you will need a goal kicker.
@Pokkel (Comment 8) : He tried to reach in and grab extra fries and they slammed the window shut maybe. 🙂
@KSA Shark © (Comment 6) : @Pokkel (Comment 8) : @KSA Shark © (Comment 12) :
I think tick the “all of the above” box.
We need to get Whackhead Simpson to call Ricky as a McDonalds rep offering him sponsorship.
THAT will definitely make it onto a best of CD.
@KSA Shark © (Comment 11) : IF not when Grant goes off… although after just coming back, I suppose it’d be a bit much to expect him to last the full 80.
@molly (Comment 15) : I was tempted to put the “when” in capitals. 🙂
I will be very surprised if he lasts a full 80. What injury did he have? was he able to do fitness during the lay-off?
@KSA Shark © (Comment 16) : It was his ankle, as far as I understand he was training last week with the team and running drills, just couldn’t kick because of pain. I’m sure he’ll only play 60ish… Which means ALOT of Earl to be seen.
@molly (Comment 17) : Actually very little actually if you consider all the strapping, padding, headgear and gloves. You’ll only just manage to see his face. 😉
@KSA Shark © (Comment 18) : 😆
WP have another Ricky on their books, Ricky Schroeder. Injured at the moment and will prob be back late this year. Was a shoe in for the SA U20s until he bust his leg. Our SA U20 scrummies seem to have pretty slow passes. anyone else notice during the current tournament?
