Sharks coach John Plumtree has made only one change to his starting fifteen following the win at Loftus over the Bulls, and a further two changes to the substitutes bench from that match.
Ryan Kankowski has dropped to the bench and is replaced by the human wrecking ball Willem Alberts to make up a loose trio of Keegan Daniel, Jean Deysel and Alberts.
The changes to the bench are Marcell Coetzee staying in South Africa and being replaced by Jacques Botes and Eugene van Staden replacing Wiehahn Herbst.
Frenchman Freddie Michalak has received the green light from SANZAR to take the field on Saturday and will continue in the 10 jersey, with Pat Lambie playing at fullback.
The team:
1. Tendai Mtawarira
2. Bismarck du Plessis
3. Jannie du Plessis
4. Gerhard Mostert
5. Alistair Hargreaves
6. Keegan Daniel
7. Jean Deysel
8. Willem Alberts
9. Charl McLeod
10. Frederic Michalak
11. Lwazi Mvovo
12. Meyer Bosman
13. Stefan Terblanche (Captain)
14. JP Pietersen
15. Patrick Lambie
Replacements
16. John Smit
17. Eugene van Staden
18. Ross Skeate
19. Ryan Kankowski
20. Jacques Botes
21. Adrian Jacobs
22. Louis Ludik

Dragons!! 😈
Don’t know if the change is all that good. Would’ve preferred a faster loose trio to counter the Crusaders speed to the ball.
JLP is an idiot 😆 he can not even make the sharks match 22 thank god brummer and boshoff can now get game time…we do not want him back again he is not a team plater another Rory Cocky in the making.
Kanko had his best game in years last week, tough call.
That said after last week i dont doubt Plums choices!
This is a wet weather team. No complaints.
@billy (Comment 4) : Alberts is there to keep read and todd busy which will allow daniel to do his thing.
@billy (Comment 4) : It’s going to rain so I’m happy with the pack. Would have been happier if Coetzee was on the bench.
@Muzi (Comment 3) : The Bulls turned JLP into a idiot. 😉 😆
Great choice of bringing in alberts for kanko in wet weather you want the heaviest pack availible
We surely can cause another upset this weekend 😀
@war1 (Comment 5) : that means kanko will not go to the world cup
I actually anticipated this move what with the wet weather and the ground being heavy underfoot. With that type of conditions, I’d also rather play an 18-wheeler than an Ferrari. 🙂
@Ben (Comment 8) : nooooooooo he thinks he can jol better than morne steyn pppffffttt i do not even want to see him wearing our new slick puma shirt
Can’t complain about the selections. Makes sense to play both Alberts and Deysel in the wet.
@billy (Comment 4) : With you on that. Thought Kanko was outstanding last week.
Weather forecast for rain. That could be why Kanko is on the bench.
if it isn’t wet as expected then you can always make a last minute change
@Muzi (Comment 10) : You’re probably right.
GOOD LUCK SHARKS!
@BR (Comment 15) : Exactly.
@Muzi (Comment 12) :just hoped puma will change their design for the jersey just like the cheetas and the other team being sponsered by puma this desing dosn’t work with any of the teams colors ecpected a bit more from puma to be honest they also made a mess with the new bafana kit realy desipointed in them thouhgt the bulls jersey would look a lot better then i does.
regtig teleur gestel in Puma 🙁
@BR (Comment 19) : Think the other team I saw was Madagascar or someone like that
One more ‘wet’ or ‘rain’ and I’m going to unleash a thunderstorm 😈 I’m content with whatever is happening across the universe and shall not pass judgment on anything at this stage.
GO SHAAAARRRRRKKKKSSSSS !!!!!!!!

@BR (Comment 19) : the bafana puma jersey is meant to irritate supporters…i wonder if Pierre Spies will fit into one of those small sizes 😆
I just hope they can get over the jet lag.
Is it true that jet lag is worse when it rains? 😈
Thoughts on Eugene van Staden replacing Wiehahn Herbst? I’m in two minds about it…
@McLovin (Comment 24) : It’s a proven fact, the build-up of moisture in the atmosphere actually slows down the plane
@wpw (Comment 1) : [email protected]@§ 😛
@McLovin (Comment 24) : 😆
if you want have alook at the new bulls jerdey: http://www.sarugby.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/NewBlueBullsJersey-212×300.jpg
and if you want to see how ugly the baffana kit is : http://www.footballkitnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/Puma-New-South-Africa-Jersey-2011-2012.jpg
Lekker Team! We’re gona bliksem them Saders so hard on Saturday!!!! Can’t wait 😈
@BR (Comment 29) : Holy crap that Bulls jersey is ugly! The Bafana jersey looks better.
@KSA Shark © (Comment 27) : Se hom!!!!
@Ben (Comment 31) : Nice big target to aim for on the front of the jersey 😈
@McLovin (Comment 24) :
Bwhahahahaha the guy in the office with me thinks I’m a twit now. 😳
@Ben (Comment 31) : Was there ever a Bulls jersey that looked good? 😉 😈
@Ben (Comment 31) : 😥 it’s not that bad come on
@BR (Comment 29) : Vodacom must be paying the Bulls a shit load of money. Looks more like a Vodacom jersey. 😉
@McLovin (Comment 35) : yes on a hot pretoria blonde
😆
I like the new Bulls jersey… especially like the fact that it has teh Barbeton daisy instead of any silly bull logo.
@Muzi (Comment 36) : Its horrible. The Vodacom sign is far too big.
@Ben (Comment 37) : Vodacom provides millions for our junior structures according to the bold headed barend van graan
The Jerseys aint that bad 😈
@robdylan (Comment 39) : Me too.
@Muzi (Comment 38) : I hope you are not talking about Timotei Olivier 😛
@BR (Comment 29) : The Bafana jersey sucks! The Bulls one I like a lot actually – simple and clean.
@Muzi (Comment 38) : Perhaps. 🙂
@robdylan (Comment 39) : I am getting one soon
@McLovin (Comment 46) : pffftttt whatever
@McLovin (Comment 35) : @Muzi (Comment 38) : 🙂 🙄
The Bulls jersey has a major defect. The logos are not symmetrical. The players are gona pull to the left when the run 😆
@robdylan (Comment 39) : Agreed, it sort of suggests they’re going back to their roots
Don’t worry Bulls supporters. The new jersey will most definitely not make you look phat. 😛
@robdylan (Comment 39) : You can’t put a tamed Bull on the jersey. The Bull turns pink. 😉
@vanmartin (Comment 45) : Let me guess all the players will be prouncing around and dancing around with blue puma boots i mean look at the cheetahs everything is linked to puma
You guys are haters that jersey is looking good we have had to endure rubbish gilbert jerseys thank god the bulls finally woke up
@vanmartin (Comment 25) : Could it be because Plum does not want to risk John Smit as a replacement prop against an excellent scrumming team? Eugene is competent on either side of the scrum but not so Wiehahn.
Have you seen the under 19 players at the bulls the mullet hair cut is very popular 😯 and the blonde long hair cut is a must for forwards
@senior (Comment 56) : What’s this??? We are talking jerseys now! 😆
Just kidding
@Muzi (Comment 57) : 🙄
Daisies, Disas, they’re all the same to me 😐
@robdylan (Comment 39) : The Currie cup jersey has always had a Barberton daisy on it. The Super one will have that Bulls logo on it.
@Muzi (Comment 55) : I honestly like the new Bull’s jersey. I wouldn’t mind a similar design for the Sharks jersey as well (although I love the current Sharks design)
@senior (Comment 56) : Makes sense
@war1 (Comment 61) : Pity…
orry to say except from the daisy there is nothing good about it
The more I look at the bafana top it is actually quite alright but as a kit it is really ugly

back to the Sharks… I’m worried about Vic’s hands at the base in the wet… hope they move Keegan to 8 at scrumtime
@vanmartin (Comment 62) : It’s the best bulls jersey i have seen in a looooong time gilbert make kak jerseys they should stick to boots and scrum caps.
”The Vodacom Daisies” has a nice ring to it 😎
@war1 (Comment 61) : thanks for confirming what I suspected 🙂
@Jarson (AddicteD) (Comment 67) : 👿 funny
@Muzi (Comment 66) : Let’s not forget rugby balls. 😉
@robdylan (Comment 65) : I’m pretty sure they will.
@Ben (Comment 70)Admit it you like it
@Jarson (AddicteD) (Comment 67) :

@Muzi (Comment 66) : I actually liked the bulls current super rugby and currie cup jerseys made by gilbert the cc jersey were traditional wen they made it also had the daisy on
@Muzi (Comment 72) : What the Bulls jersey? I really don’t like it. The design is pretty nice but like I said the Vodacom sign is far too big.
@Jarson (AddicteD) (Comment 67) : On the field they are not daisies they can jol 👿
@Muzi (Comment 76) : What are you on about? The mighty Bull has been tamed! 🙂 😉 😆
@Muzi (Comment 38) : A hot Poppie from PRetoRia? With the perm and the mullet.
Nee dis okay dankie. 😳
@robdylan (Comment 65) : He’s handling seemed pretty solid when coming on in the Bulls game but granted that wasn’t at 8
@Ben (Comment 75) : What can we do boet if that vodacom red logo is small then we will get the chop like the cheetahs and stormers did this vodacom red business is a radiculous no wonder all the old tannies..oupa’s and blue bulls legends are pissed
😆
@KSA Shark © (Comment 78) : En n bloue bakkie met blou bulle horns
@vanmartin (Comment 79) : And it wasn’t raining.
@Ben (Comment 77) : The mighty bulls are on vacation they are busy chilling and getting some TLC from their wives..they will be hurting and on revenge mode when the currie cup starts at kings park agains the sharks.
@Ben (Comment 40) : Can you imagine me with my SLIGHTLY below average sized boep with the Vodacom logo on my boep, now imagine some BIG boeped Bulls fan in that. 😯
NEE DANKIE.
@Ben (Comment 82) : Alberts was scared of daniesourous that night i don’t blame him he was a target the bulls players were 👿 about the kak season they were having.
@KSA Shark © (Comment 84) : Fits the description of a Bulls fan just fine. Well done to Puma for keeping that in mind! 🙂
😆
@KSA Shark © (Comment 84) : Can spies fit all those huge biceps when he runs it will tear up watch this space 😉
@Muzi (Comment 76) : Maybe they should stop jolling and start playing rugby 😉 😀
@Muzi (Comment 83) : Sorry for a second there I thought you were gonna say the Bulls are at home drinking and beating up their wives. 🙂 😉
Just kidding
@KSA Shark © (Comment 84) : SLIGHTLY below average 😯 😉
interesting ….
@Ben (Comment 89) na boet the bulls players know how to spoil their wives… 😉
@Clayton(PJLD) (Comment 17) : Thank you very much Claytie 😀 – these okes are so busy discussing couture that they dont even have the decency to comment on your Good luck wishes! (and they say woman are bad!) 😈
@rekinek (Comment 91) : Not what you expected hey?
@rekinek (Comment 91) : I don’t know what’s wrong with this people today, all but rugby gets discussed, even KSA’s boep now getting a chance 😆
Na boet you are not a blue bulls player if you do not jol hatfield clubs are packed with rugga players 😀
@rekinek (Comment 91) : That’s a bit of an understatement, G-Shark..
@Muzi (Comment 85) : Alberts was scare of Danie? Whaaaaaaaaat??? That’s like saying a brick wall is scared of a spunge colliding with it.
@robdylan (Comment 65) : Yeah on our own feed we should have Keegan packing down at 8, and when its a defending scrum then Keegan must be at openside, where his pace will enable him to put more pressure on Carter/SBW
@Ice (Comment 93) : Thanks Claytie. 😳
@rekinek (Comment 91) : Ola Ola! 🙂
@Ben (Comment 98) : Yes that night alberts disappeared after dropping like 6 balls i could not believe my eyes 😯
@Muzi (Comment 87) : Are you a dude or a dudette? Serious question now.
@Muzi (Comment 96) : Yeah that’s true, I met a few Bulls when I still stayed there.
@Ben (Comment 103) : what are you trying to say huh ? 👿
@Muzi (Comment 102) : Last week???
@KingRiaan (Comment 104) : The varsity chicks like fishing for junior players there at hatfield if you are not buff
forget it you will get niks lol
@Muzi (Comment 105) : I’m asking a question. Because if you are a dude I’m starting to get a bit worried with your obsession with Pierre Spies. 🙂 😉
Great choice! Kanko is NOT being dropped; this is a horses for courses selection.
I’m sure we will take a leaf out of the Cheetahs playbook – Daniel will go straight for SBW on defensive set-pieces, and Deysel and Alberts will hunt him in open play.
We need to win this game up front, and this team can do that. This is a beast of a pack!
@Muzi (Comment 107) : Thats true, but there were enough for us club players as well.
👿 i am not obsessed grrrrrrr
@Jarson (AddicteD) (Comment 94) : not exactly 🙄
@franshark (Comment 95) : difficult to believe that we’ve said everything that there was to say about jetlag 😈 😉
@Ice (Comment 97) : i needed a minute to digest this info..
@KingRiaan (Comment 110) : Indeed what you need to do is to make friends with say william small smith or a bulls junior player..blomm with the dude they will put you in the game big time all the chicks will fight over you
@Ben (Comment 101) : more more 😀
@rekinek (Comment 115) : less less you mean sharkies 👿
@Muzi (Comment 116) : 😆 it was “more” from “goeie more” (i hope i am spelling it correctly 😳
@Viking (Comment 50) : Logo lag
@rekinek (Comment 112) : what is jetlag, why don’t the guys just close the windows so the diesel fumes don’t go into the plain, eish 🙂
@franshark (Comment 119) : why didn’t you suggest it before they boarded the plane – now they are all fumigated 😀
In terms of the Bulls PUMA jersey according to Gilbert they’re still the official sponsors and legal action has been implemented. Not sure if it’ll be against the BBRU or Puma.
@rekinek (Comment 112) : True, maybe we should get Dr Tim Noakes’s opinion.
@rekinek (Comment 120) : nobody asked 🙂
@Jarson (AddicteD) (Comment 90) : Well if I was in Pretoria it would be WAY blow average. 😉
@KSA Shark © (Comment 124) : 🙂
@Butchie34 (Comment 121) : could get interesting 🙄
@Muzi (Comment 111) : Well maybe a little 😛
@McLovin (Comment 24) : ROTFLMAO!!!!
@Butchie34 (Comment 121) : Hehehehehehe
@rekinek (Comment 115) : Its “middag” already?
@Muzi (Comment 111) : You still haven’t answered my question? 😆
@Ben (Comment 130) : 😳 Middag Ben 😀
I think the Bulls jersey looks cool, the Bafana one not so much. So cool knowing that the WP jersey wont change 😎
@Clayton(PJLD) (Comment 133) : If I were a wp supporter I would wish the jerseys would change I know it is part of their tradition but I have never liked the streeptruie 😈
practical and intelligent selection given the probable conditions….I like it …
@BR (Comment 134) : SACRILEGE
@Clayton(PJLD) (Comment 136) : watse goed
The tied game against the Lions REALLY cost the Sharks. I’m sure the Sharks would have much rather have played the Blues this weekend than the Saders.
I’m feeling a lot better about the Sharks this week than what I did last week. It’s amazing what a good win can do to the morale.
Go The Sharks!!! 😀
@BR (Comment 137) : the violation or profanation of anything sacred or held sacred. 😉
@BR (Comment 137) : 😆 😆
thanks
@Clayton(PJLD) (Comment 136) : wishfull thinking to think that the wp will ever be sacred 😉
if the sharks lose – which is highly unlikely – then john smit (our national captain) will have played his last super rugby match off the bench! i don’t think Plum appreciates the gravity of the occassion. john is a galvanising factor and the most experienced and decorated captain in the history of rugby union.
if you’re going to battle in nz you need your general on the pitch! 👿 🙁
@Megatron (Comment 142) :
Come on Mega….it’s not your style to play the underdog game. 😀
@Megatron (Comment 142) :
clearly you want the crusaders to win if you sugest that we must play smit
@Megatron (Comment 142) : Over flowing with the Sarcasm today are we? 🙄
@BR (Comment 137) : Jy praat uit jou pentie uit 😉
@Pokkel (Comment 143) : He supports the Kings. It is pretty much his game to play underdog. 🙂
@Clayton(PJLD) (Comment 146) :
@Ben (Comment 147) : LOL 🙂
Can you guys please beat the Saders for me, then I can buy some tickets from ALL the disappointed Cape Crusader fans, thanks 😈
@BR (Comment 144) : you don’t trust our national captain?
@molly (Comment 150) : Hehehe nice. I see computicket has broken many a heart again.
@Clayton(PJLD) (Comment 152) : Yeah, I heard the queues at Newlands were insane as well. As usual, ticket buying in SA at its best, someone needs to come up and challenge Computicket.
@molly (Comment 150) : cape crusader? Isn’t that Batman?
@robdylan (Comment 154) : More like Baitman
@robdylan (Comment 154) : Or Baartman
@robdylan (Comment 154) : Boatman?
@Megatron (Comment 151) : not when it come to the sharks all the trophies that we won he wasn’t the captain 😐
got no problem with him just think he must have being watching rugby on the tv relaxing played a year or two to long 😉
Perfect ,coach been reading my blogs (except on John smit) he about the only one . It will be close to test match intensity . Those calling for a faster lf trio dont realise that the saders forwards have a hard edge that needs to be brutalised and softened .Alberts must tackle sbw through the ropes and of the ring.Deysel and alberts must clean out todd so the guys face kisses his boots. Lets go Sharks ,you can doiit
@KingRiaan (Comment 155) : Winning comment of the day 😆
39 hours to go 🙂
@vanmartin (Comment 25) : Would have played Herbst myself. Rate that boy!
Totally agree with you both on that one.eugene v staden seems like a great guy but I think herbst can really go a long long way-though,admittedly,my knowledge of front row play (especially scrumming )is not something to blog about 😀
Though come cc season,they must both ,herbst and v staden play a huge roll at the sharks..!
35 hours to go
This is what I`ve been asking for all season.
Pity about the conditions under which we`ll test this loose forward combination out.
Good Luck Guys!
Lwazi Mvovo and J.P Pietersen = L.J All Day Baby!!!…L.J All Day!!!. SHARKS4LIFE!!!.
Ok, 27 hours to go 🙂
Morning all, have a great day, GO …. Who ever! …. Blues for SB 🙂
@The Shark (Comment 167) : LJ?
This wait is flippen killing me and there is still more than a day to go.
@franshark (Comment 169) : Morning.
Enjoying the wait?
I’m not.
And I won’t even get to see the game until the evening. 🙁
@franshark (Comment 169) : Blues for me on SB as well. Can’t recall my margin. 😳
Hi All,
Good luck to the Sharks, please prove John Robbie & the other doubters wrong.
I thought Herbst was abit unlucky not to make the bench, but in Plumtree we trust.
LOL @ Reunion!
TJ explains the play-offs and Graham Henry said something along the lines of ” very complicated”.
TJ ” I probably read it too fast”
Henry ” I won`t be back ”
TJ ” That`s what you said to the wife before the last world cup! ”
Henry ” Is this programme over? “
@nimalen316 (Comment 174) :
Welcome to the site!
Hope to see you around..
@Original Pierre (Comment 175) : Bwhahahaa Excellent.
please tell me rugbydump will have that up as a clip.
I have to say – I am so proud of the people in one of my SB private pools… 😀 GO SHARKS!!
(PS – You will know who I mean!) 😉
@Ice (Comment 178) : Hey I picked them last week as well.
Pokkel has little faith it seems. 😛
@Original Pierre (Comment 175) : I saw that, and then TJ claimed he’ll be there to present the next episode “if he still have a job” 🙂
@KSA Shark © (Comment 179) : and so also does ben… 🙁
@KSA Shark © (Comment 179) :
Hey it worked for me last week! 😉
The best results for the Sharks in the next 3 weeks are:
Blues to win today.
Sharks to beat the Crusaders.
Sharks to beat the Reds
Blues to beat the Stormers
Then we can wait for the Blues to get back to Auckland like a group of hijackers and beat them in the final. 👿
@Pokkel (Comment 182) : 😎
@Butchie34 (Comment 183) : No, it would be better to face the Tahs in the final.
@butchie34: jip,agree 😀 but if the sharks are gone,then I hope the stormers take the comp.and to beat the saders tomorrow will be difficult,just looking at what team they can field,never mind the rest.
@Butchie34 (Comment 183) : Nope you have that wrong IMO.
The best scenario for us would be for the Waratahs to go through to the final. IF we then made the finals it would mean we have traveled from NZ to Brisbane to Sydney as opposed to having to travel back to NZ for the final.
@Ben: sharks don’t have impressive record vs tahs -especially on tahs home groung.to be honest,they are a team I would really like to avoid @ home .but to win this comp from now on,any team on their home ground.starting with saders tomorrow.
@Ben: sharks don’t have impressive record vs tahs -especially on tahs home groung.to be honest,they are a team I would really like to avoid @ home .but to win this comp from now on,any team on their home ground.starting with saders tomorrow.but is going to be big ask tomorrow.
@Pokkel (Comment 182) : yes, let all the jinxers pick the Saders – I am so proud that you are not afraind to take one for the team 😀
@KSASHARK: yes,that would be best.even better if the tahsbe delayed by an ash cloud from a volcano by ,what,72 hours? Hehe
@bergshark (Comment 188) : I would rather have Bryce Lawrence ref us against the Tahs then against the Blues.
@KSA Shark © (Comment 192) : i have mixed feelings about Bryce would prefer Mark though 😆
@KSA Shark © (Comment 192) : Wasn’t it dear old Bryce who screwed us over against the Waratahs last year when he should have awarded us a penalty try to an intentional slap-down by Kurtley Beale?
Agree with @Rekinek that I’d rather have Mark Lawrence.
@KSAHARK:surely the kiwi refs won’t favour their own in the final? 😉
@rekinek (Comment 190) : 😀
@Butchie34 (Comment 194) : I’m not sure. I’m on my phone or else I’d go and look back at the match threads and see.
I will tell you that I believe if EXACTLY the same offence is committed by the Tahs and the Blues against us, he would be more likely to blow against the Tahs than against the Blues. It’s just plain human instinct.
@bergshark (Comment 191) : Hehehehe. 😀
@Butchie34 (Comment 194) : no – that was somebody else, whose name I can’t remember right now
@rekinek (Comment 190) : sorry – I picked Sharks 🙁
@robdylan (Comment 199) : Paul Marks and I think he run a touch in the very next game.
@robdylan (Comment 200) : 😯 now you get me worried, who did you pick last week?
