The Sharks squad, who unfortunately failed in their somewhat impossible mission to topple the Crusaders and proceed to the Super Rugby semi-finals, have opted to spend a bit of time in Sydney on their way back home.
The team, sorely in need of a mental and physical break after the rigours of the extended season, will hopefully get the opportunity to stretch the legs a little, as well as possibly doing a little retail therapy, in Australia’s most vibrant city, before heading back to SA, where they will arrive on Tuesday.
It’s not going to be a long break, but I’m sure they’ll enjoy some time off once they get to Durban as well, before diving into Currie Cup preparations.
All this talk of short breaks, of course, makes me realise that I’m pretty desperate for one too, given how long this competition has turned out to be! I’m taking today off, in other words, to relax and reflect. Fear not, the usual set of analyses and season post mortems will start on Monday.
Thanks to all for spending the Sharks’ inaugural Super Rugby campaign with us here at Sharksworld!

Thank to you Rob, and enjoy the day….
well hope they enjoy their break, its not much, we play the bulls in 3 weeks time again. The seasons just become ridiculously long
If the stormers reach the final then they just keep on playing lol…
Rest is for the weak π π May you and the boys enjoy your well deserved rest and come back stronger than ever.
Enjoy the break guys, you deserve it.
In exactly 30 days time I’ll be in Dbn for a month to watch some rugby. π
@KSA
We should meet up for a lunch or dinner when you in Durbs..
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 6) : Are you going to promote the ITM cup Superbru pool for us? Afaik Rob did give the ok and HH will probably give some info again.
let the sharks go and lick their wounds while they wait for the ash cloud to dissipitate…
john plumtree he has been outsmarted twice this year by alister coetzee & todd blackadder – the two men in the cape town semi.
did anyone even SEE meyer bosman in yesterday’s match? i certainly don’t remember seeing him play? π
@KSA Shark Β© (Comment 5) : Nice, hope you enjoy it π
In the end analysis – a sixth place finish and one-sided exit from a quarter final is just not good enough.
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 6) : Yip we must do. I need a good night out.
Sharks v Cheetahs in Dbn on 30 July, we should see if we can get a group together.
@KSA Shark Β© (Comment 12) : On that note.
Whatever happened to the article about the Loftus Rebellion? Did Ice do one?
@KSA Shark Β© (Comment 13) : Nope still waiting for that article. It seems Ice went MIA. π
@KSA Shark Β© (Comment 13) : It will come tomorrow… π
@Ben (Comment 14) : they were awfully quiet this week π
they are buying presies for the wifes so that they not moer them for going asleep in the second half when they come back home π
@Ben (Comment 14) : maybe Ice looked at the photos and decided we ain’t pretty enough
@rekinek (Comment 18) : Can’t think off any other reason. π
@Ben (Comment 19) : she run out of tipex while editing the foties π
