The latest news on the unfolding Stade Francais financial crisis is that they look set to offload some of their big names in an attempt to balance the books – this as a group of investors may have come together at the 11th hour to save the club.
According to a report on Planet Rugby, Western Province lock Anton van Zyl, whose move to the Paris club was announced last week, looks likely to one of the players culled in an effort to save cash. Van Zyl, who struggled to find a spot in the Stormers’ second row this Super Rugby season, reportedly turned down a big-money offer to return to the Lions in order to sign with Stade; let’s hope that the Joburg option is still open to him given this latest development.
Sharks lock Gerhard Mostert has also appeared on the inbound transfer list for Stade Francais, despite not yet having signed the offer presented. The latest development must surely jeopardise that contract too and even if it isn’t summarily withdrawn from the French side, Mostert would surely need his head read if he considers moving to Paris now.
Good news for Sharks fans hoping to see Mossie stay in the black and white.

Stef not been that bad-problem is with coaching group.
But he will be 36 this year.though I don’t think you are too old or too young-it all depends on if you can still play the game at the level you are tested on.
