The Sharks will take on the SWD Eagles on Friday night in the form of a Sharks XV, picked mostly from the junior and Vodacom Cup ranks.
The Sharks have opted to give the vast majority of their Super Rugby squad an additional week off, meaning that only Ross Skeate and Jacques-Louis Potgieter will make the trip as senior players, with the former captaining the side. Anton Bresler, Wiehahn Herbst, Craig Burden and Marcell Coetzee are the other members of the pack to have played some Super Rugby this year leaving the side with a relatively experienced pack. Dale Chadwick completes the tight five as he packs down at loosehead prop, while Tera Mtembu and Franna Kleinhans from the under 21 ranks complete an inexperienced, while promising, loose forward trio.
The backs have a raw, yet very exciting, look to them, with Potgieter (named at flyhalf) and Mark Richards (right wing) the only members of the lineup who are no still under 21. Cobus Reinach – son of Bok winger Jaco – is a surprise pick to start at scrumhalf ahead of Ross Cronje, while the centre pair of Heimar Williams and Piet Lindeque excelled for the Sharks at under 19 level last year. Blitzbok hero Sbura Sithole and another under 21 player in Gouws Prinsloo complete the back three.
The inclusion of young Paul Jordaan on the bench will have tongues wagging, as much is expected of the youngster who also made a name for himself on the Sevens circuit this year. Kyle Cooper will play his first game of rugby in almost 3 months after a hand injury, while Julian Redelinghuys, the front-row deputy, has also been out for an extended period with knee damage. Jandre Marais is another Vodacom Cup stalwart, while Siseko Jafta is a young loose forward with plenty of promise who is still eligible for the under 19s this year. Cronje and winger Rosco Speckman complete the backline reserves.
The side will be coached by Sean Everitt and Ryan Strudwick, with John Plumtree going along too to oversee the young talent on display and decide which of them he feels are ready to step up to his Currie Cup squad.

@robdylan (Comment 2) : Eventhough cronje is talented he is taking time to live up to his hype BUT Reinach is ready for the big league..Cronje is regressing.
Bulls basicly almost pict best avalible side I wonder if they are scared
@Muzi (Comment 3) : The flyhalf decision must have been a tough one to make. Personally I would have opted for no flyhalf ahead of Brummer. π
So good to see Julian R right back in the mix.
Why can’t these experimental games never be played in Durban. Its like its some kind of unwritten rule.
@beet (Comment 6) : Mind your own business..
@beet (Comment 6) : Jacques-Louis Potgieter leaving was the best thing ever tp happen to brummer π your blonde number 10 is not reliable he was shocking for us thank god he is gone!
@Muzi (Comment 3) : I know about 5 of those names and can pronounce bout 7 of them! Hope that ain’t the Bulls Super Rugby team of the future, because if it is I feel sorry for any commentator!
Promising young Sharks team though, and I can at least pronounce their names! π
Will we recieve live updates on Sharksworld?
@beet (Comment 7) : I actually think it’s a written rule.
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 10) : Relax this is not even our full strength currie cup side…Dewaldt Potgieter..Pretorius..Gary Botha….Van den heever..Wacko Jaco….are sme of the senior players missing.
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 11) : Watch this space WE WILL GET SADIE!!!!! we are rebuilding
Let’s hope the golden boy Piet Lindeque makes the step up
i mean i heard he is the next BIG THING at outsdie centre.
@Muzi (Comment 13) : @Muzi (Comment 14) : So funny seeing Bulls supporters so desperate for one player… And I will lmao when Sadie resigns with Province!
@Muzi (Comment 15) : I hope so, because its time Oupa Stef started watching rugby games from his couch π
@war1 (Comment 12) : My comment no.7 should read can not can’t. π³ So glad you were able to make sense of it.
Whatever happened to “rules were meant to be broken”. Pity Stegmann isn’t the Sharks friendly fixtures compiler.
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 16) : If he resigns i will be πΏ i mean he has been offered the damn number 13 jersey
@Muzi (Comment 14) : Paarlbok moves in those circles in the W/Cape and judging from what he’s said, it sounds like there is a good chance that Sadie will make the move.
Once he buys a pair of blinkers and starts running into brickwalls, we’ll know for certain what Sadie’s future plans are
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 17) : @The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 17) : The new sharks centre combo will look like this below:
Oupa Marius Joubert at 12
Oupa Stefan at 13
That will indeed rattle a few feathers π
@Muzi (Comment 19) : What’s your take on Okkie Kruger. He played SA Schools didn’t he?
@beet (Comment 22) : Ockie Kruger played for the sa academy side…i do not really rate him that much…the best young fetcher at the bulls is that blonde mop head Marnus Schoeman….Shimange was busy gloating about him in the vodacom cup final..schoeman is the next big thing at 6 i hope your beloved hans scriba stays away from schoeman.
@Muzi (Comment 19) : What would you prefer? The number 13 jersey of a team that is going to lose most of their Super Rugby matches next season or a spot on the bench of a team who will remain title contenders for the 2012 Super 15 season??
@Muzi (Comment 21) : Don’t have to tell me twice! π But yeah I feel sorry for Lambie. The whole of the SUper 15 this year he had to try avoid passing the ball to Stef, for fear he got hurt. Now he is going to have no midefield to play with!! And somehow the poor guy manages to shine…
@Muzi (Comment 23) : I agree, Marnus is hot property. If he doesn’t get in ahead of Kuun this season, he must seriously weigh up his options and look for greener pastures.
@beet (Comment 26) : If Kuun remains the captain for the rest of the season, I doubt Marnus will see much of the Bulls jersey…
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 24) :
So you think we will struggle next year i disagree Boet π₯ ..Sadie will not become a top bok by sitting on the bench..he needs game time not bench time. π
@beet (Comment 26) : Trust me Marnus is damn hot property the good news π is that he has recently signed a 3 year contract extension..guys chill kuun is leaving schoeman will get game time.
This looks like a lekke exiting sharks 15 team, I’m getting all worked up for the CC. Can we get passed this nothing S15 final and get to the real rugga again π
@Muzi (Comment 23) : I’m really keen to see OVS’s Riaan Smit in action now that he’s got the nod ahead of Franna or is Franna injured.
Franna was actually my favourite player in the 2008 Grey Bloem team. Just think how well that backline has done. Cobus Reinach, Franna, Francois, Piet, Dinkelmann, Britz
@Muzi (Comment 3) : if this is the bulls team that facing the sharks next weekend we have not much to worrie about π
@Muzi (Comment 28) : Sadie won’t become a top bok playing with kak players around him either. A player can be made to look very good when placed in the right environment. But of course on the other side of the coin, a standout player in a losing team also gains notable mention.
Maybe Sadie will move, maybe he won’t. It will be logical for him to remain at WP, be patient and learn from the 3 Bok centers that are already there! As Robert Eberson said in the latest issue of SA Rugby Mag, guys like De Jongh and Sadie are gainng valuable experience playing alongside guys like De Villiers and Fourie, something that he is not doing.
@beet (Comment 31) : Dinkelmann is sadly out of favour at the moment at the bulls π₯ Franna has no future in bloem sias and goosen are better!
@franshark (Comment 32) : Don’t say that! You know the Sharks have a tendacy to underperform when the opponents are highly underestimated!
Guys for heavens sake
this is not our team against the sharks π
@Muzi (Comment 34) : What about Franna at 12 or maybe even 15.
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 35) : oops didn’t say that… What I said… Gonna be a cracker to start the CC
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 33) : So the watermeyers..spies…steggies…oliviers are kak players π₯ why are they boks then?
@Muzi (Comment 28) : And I do think you will struggle next year without the key players which have formed an integral part of the Bulls team. While Hougaard will back-up Du Preez well, and Flip Van Der Merwe is a good replacement for Bakkies “Yellow Card” Botha, I simply don’t see someone filling the role Victor Matfield has played at the Bulls for the past couple of years. The Bulls will feel Matfield’s loss, mark my words!
@Muzi (Comment 36) : oh I red somewhere its the best bulls team they can pick now, u gonna put in the 2nd best against the sharks π
@franshark (Comment 38) : π
@Muzi (Comment 39) : romove spies name and I’ll say: my qeustion axactly π
@beet (Comment 37) :hmmm franna at 15 sounds the business i can not believe it that goosen is playing at 12 this friday π
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 33) : Good point made by Ebersohn but I wonder how he’d feel if he had to do it over again as a WP player. That would have been 3 years of junior rugby and no guarantees of a Vodacom Cup berth.
I have little doubt that if he’d come thru the WP system he’d have been a first class centre. Then again, he may never have got a shot at the big times with them???
@Muzi (Comment 39) : Are you now mentioning the run straight Wynand Olivier (Blondie), the useless Spies who is all bark and no bite, the penalty machine Steggies and I have not seen Watermeyer in a Bok jersey for a while (if ever). We all know the Bok coaching staff have made some shocking picks in the past. And we all know that Victor Matfield influences picking policies (favouring Bulls players). No surprise all those players are there in the Bok squad (except for Watermeyer).
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 42) : Na we will be competitive do not write us off
@Muzi (Comment 44) : That’s what makes the Riaan Smit thing so interesting for me. How good must Riaan Smit be to keep Goosen out of the 10 jersey?
@beet (Comment 45) : I agree with you on francois venter running at 13.
@beet (Comment 45) : I guess the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. Yet it may be. I believe any player looking for a quick way into a senior team is making a mistake. It might work out for them. It will probably not. Patience is one of the key things a young rugby player needs to practice now-a-days.
@beet (Comment 48) : The bulls urgently need goosen as back up to morne steyn.
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 50) : You guys need watermeyer BUT you will not get him π
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 46) : Are you a blogger on keo?
@Muzi (Comment 47) : I have no doubt that the Bulls will be competive. They still have a quality side. But it is a raw side and a young side. It still needs some cutting to make it smooth and time to make it experienced.
@Muzi (Comment 53) : No ways bru! I have given up on that site looooong time ago! The people on there just talk kak. π
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 54) : We will be ok but bulls supporters will be breaking televisions in the next two years π₯
@Muzi (Comment 51) : I rate Goosen would pipe Morne Steyn for the no10 jersey given a Currie Cup season to impress.
@Muzi (Comment 53) : how can u ask that here… Get the number and ask on bbm not on air os SW π
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 55) : I heard it’s very Anti-Pierre Spies…and Anti-Blue Bulls..
@Muzi (Comment 56) : With the talented young players the Bulls have, as well as their championship couching staff – I think they will only need one Super 15 season to rebuild, if they do it right that is.
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 55) : π
@Muzi (Comment 59) : Its anti-anything that isn’t stormers! π
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 57) : Last year i was attacked by my own bulls supporters in the bulls website for bad mouthing the skop and jaag game. π
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 46) : Here at SW, many have high expectations of Piet Lindeque, some perhaps unfairly expect too much from him too soon. I recall how happy I was when I first learned that he’d joined the Sharks Academy (actually far happy than when Muzi posted a comment last year about Paul Jordaan joining us). I believed that Piet would be a star player for the Sharks however I’ve never really associated him with the Bok jersey. I’m not sure why. But Watermeyer! When I watched this guy at school, I thought he was destined to be a Springbok one day. Amazing how this change in a few short years. Now Watermeyer barely makes the grade as a starter and I’m holding thumbs that Piet lives up to SW expectations when he comes of age.
Sorry that was a bit of a long story there.
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 62) : I hate the stormers boet.
@beet (Comment 64) : Do you rate jason newton?
@Muzi (Comment 63) : With the kind of rugby the Reds and Crusaders are producing, I don’t blame South Africans for wanting a franchise that enjoys running rugby too! The Bulls kick and chase is boring and lets face the facts, the Kiwis and Aussies were baffled by the high bombs for a while, but they have finally caught on that all you have got to do is jump and catch the ball!
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 67) : I like running rugby boet i get soooo annoyed when steyn launches bombs after bombs.
@beet (Comment 64) : When I first heard rob hail his praises I thought, “Oh finally! A center to replace the Grandpa!” I just hope he can make the step-up, and I hope the Sharks don’t rush him either (although I think he should be given a couple of chances in this year’s Currie Cup).
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 50) : Wise words but it’s also important to realise that not every player has to develop at a pre-determined set rate.
Guys like Sadie, Kyle Cooper and Marnus S are ready for the big times in my opinion. I can’t see how they can benefit from another year of being second choice players.
@Muzi (Comment 68) : Well then you had better hope that the Bulls invest in Goosen, because that is the only type of rugby that Steyn knows how to play!
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 69) : If the bulls want to see william small smith..christopher bosch..dippernar…watermeyer..francois venter step up then they must let the ball do the talking.
@beet (Comment 70) : That is why I believe the Currie Cup is such a good stage for that very purpose. While it may not be Super Rugby, it is a step up and the players are carrying the expectations of a major franchise.
@beet (Comment 70) : For the good of SA rugby i hope dries swanepoel and serfontein move to the sharks.
@Muzi (Comment 66) : I haven’t been able to watch St Johns this season. Why is he good?
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 73) : I was just joking about Lindeque
i really rate the kid i saw him together with venter at affies in the 2008 craven week i was π― they were so awesome together.
@beet (Comment 75) : I played against him when he was in grade 10 very talented but he has regressed…he needed to go to monument…st johhs are poor at rugby.
@beet (Comment 75) : Innocent radebe is very good i hope he steps up next year.
@Muzi (Comment 76) : Well whether you were joking or not, the fact still remains that he has to make the step-up. Currie Cup and then Super Rugby and then Test… the stage just keeps getting bigger, tougher and with more preassure. Promising schoolboy talents often get lost and are unable to make the step-up at all.
If the Sharks wants 2 good young centers the should try and get Divan Furgusen and Hein CronjΓ© from the Lions, they played in the VC and I was very impressed with them
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 79) : Spot on but i know he will make the step up lindeque is tooo good a player not to step up the boy is damn big and quick give him time he will repay the sharks!
@Mutley (Comment 80) : You know divan played against when me he was flyhalf for alberton high school π
@Muzi (Comment 72) : Muzi, 3 SR trophies in the cabinet suggests otherwise. You can see they’re developing Frans Venter to be the next Wynand Olivier.
Faf Tredoux looks like the real deal. I’m looking forward to watching him at CW next week.
I was at a function with some of the Sharks CW players last night. They said the Bulls peaked too early. Expect them to be flat next week
@Mutley (Comment 80) : Actually I think the Sharks should rather invest in the young talent already coming through their ranks. No use pissing off all the u/19 and u/21 players by bringing in 2 imports who know nothing about Sharks rugby. Its a no wonder we have lost so much backline talent in the past couple of years! Especially in the center department…
I turn my back for a second… π
@beet (Comment 83) : The bulls have given tradoux a 2 year contract….i know ell he has even out in a few extra pounds π₯ why kill such a classy talented kid π₯
@Muzi (Comment 78) : He’s now my sole reason for wanting to watch Saints next year. I have to be able to see how good this kid is with my own eyes.
Looking at the way things being are handled up there, I see Durban as a good option for talented English schools players from Jozi.
@beet (Comment 83) : You should take note that 2 of those trophy wins came during the old era of kick-and-chase. The world has moved on. Its time the Bulls did too.
@beet (Comment 83) : That waterkloof side gave grey college a game and a half…
@beet (Comment 87) : Beet he is brilliant for a black kid he has an educated boot
i hope he move sto monument…the saints schools are crap.
@robdylan (Comment 85) : We’ve being keeping Sharksworld alive don’t worry π
@Muzi (Comment 90) : How old are you bru? What school did you attend (or are attending)?
@Mutley (Comment 80) : Were these the 2 centres that impressed in the Vodacom Cup game against the Sharks XV in the rain.
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 88) : Pine Pienaar will use a running game for the currie cup side.
@beet (Comment 93) : Yep divan with the black hair i tackled him though
great talent
@Muzi (Comment 90) : But the Monnas 10 made the GK team ahead of him, didn’t he???
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 92) : I’m 20
@Muzi (Comment 94) : I don’t believe! Not unless I hear the words from his mouth and see the Bulls actually hang onto the ball in the field!
@beet (Comment 96) : Beet do you know mlamuli ntuli?
@robdylan (Comment 85) : Rob I suspect I’m going to become the first SW blogger to earn a star by communicating with just one other person π₯
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 98) : Trust me Pine hates twitter but he loves the running game.
@Muzi (Comment 97) : Ok cool. Seems like you’ve played against quite a lot of these guys, was just wondering if u went to a big rugga school or not!
@beet (Comment 100) : I went to clifton near michaelhouse in balgowan
@Muzi (Comment 101) : I still have to see it with my own 2 eyes! This just spices things up for the Bulls-Sharks opening Currie Cup fixture!
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 102) : I was at st benedicts college .
@Muzi (Comment 99) : No not personally. But I remember him vaguely. He was a lively little no.9 for my old school but he was a bit small. I don’t know what happened too him after school.
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 104) : Last year we ran the ball with JLP at flyhalf.
@beet (Comment 106) : I played with him in primary school yea he is very short
i was running at 10.
@Muzi (Comment 107) : The only Bulls Currie Cup fixture I recall watching last year was the semi-final loss to the Sharks… and there was a lot of kicking in there!!
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 109) : And who was the flyhalf? π
@Muzi (Comment 110) : …ok true that!! But I doubt old JLP would have done a better job. We actually wud hav prefered having him play coz then we cud commit numerous penalty offenses and we would know that they weren’t going to be converted! π
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 88) : That’s true. But I somehow think the Bulls still believe it’s a winning formula. I think it might have to fail them once more to abort.
Sharks Sharkie many schoolboys are into the flavour of the season kind of thing. Last year out festival programme listed the player’s heroes and I was surprised to see just how many opted for Quade Cooper who had basically just come good for the Reds at that stage (he was an error-riddled player up to 2009) over a hero of the highveld like MornΓ© Steyn.
I think it’s a pity SBW can’t stick around for a couple more seasons to have a longer term effect on youngsters. The idea of trying to use the ball to make something happen as opposed to seeking contact could have had far reaching effects on changing the midfield culture in SA (apart from WP, which as you’ve correctly established is already good developing ground for potential world class centres
One thing that makes me very angry about the sharks is that they always beat the bulls when playing as underdogs i was fuming last year in that semi final
@beet (Comment 112) : Two words GREY COLLEGE
@robdylan (Comment 85) : Rob what is your email address? I have been trying to reach you guys the whole of this week so either somethings wrong with my emails (which is highly likely :sad:) or I’ve got the wrong address (or I’m just to impatient which is also likely :grin:)
@beet (Comment 112) : Grey let the ball do the talking!
@Muzi (Comment 103) : a Jedi knight who went over to the dark side
shame!
Jip they played against the sharks, Furgeson scored a great try to
@beet (Comment 117) :
we alwys beat clifton durban π
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 115) : [email protected]
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 109) : I think the altitude has played a part in promoting the lazy kicking game that one sees up there on the highveld.
@Mutley (Comment 118) : The lions have alot of talented kids who are wasting their time in that broken house.
@beet (Comment 121) : Hows Ungerer’s leg ?
@Muzi (Comment 119) : I was joking about the Bulls CW btw. Even one of our coaches remarked at how big Herbst was.
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 91) : it’s awesome… more comments in the last hour than we had virtually the whole day!
Hey Guys. Nice chatting. Gotta go. Apparently Cavendish wins today. Must watch.
@beet (Comment 124) : Not only Herbst the Front Row π― gave neethling fouche a hard time..Justin Forwood the one fatty was massive.
@Muzi (Comment 123) : The whole team is fit and ready to go.
They were quite chuffed about the run they had against the Sharks u19 Currie Cup team. From a preparation point of view, I think this has been a step up for KZN schools. Now we just have to deliver some good performanees.
Where did Kobus de Kock go? Hope he is still with us.
Jip the Lions have got a lot of good young players just not the structures and they have very poor manegement
@Muzi (Comment 127) : No I was referring to the KZN team vs the Bulls. Cullen did tell me that the one Bulls prop was a monster in the scrum. Must have been Schoeman.
@beet (Comment 112) : Your comment is spot on!! Earlier this season at rugby pracice-note practice not even in a match-I got the ball and instead of running straight into the one guy (who had at least 60kg on me), I ran at an angle… My word! Never have I seen a person so utterly disgusting just because I never ran straight into him!
You know we all critise the coloured people for supporting the Crusaders, but it is all the coloured guys in my team who are latching onto the Quade Cooper / Sony Bill Williams gameplan – looking for space and and not contact. (That comment isn’t intended to racially insult anyone).
The whole mentality of moering the other guy as hard as you can starts at schoolboy level, and is something that players like SBW and Cooper can hopefully start to erase. What we need now is for a South African player to step out and give us a good example to latch onto.
Hopefully in a few years the backline players in my team won’t be shouting out “Sony Bill” after making an offload, or “Cooper” after stepping someone, but rather the name of “Lambie” or “Mvovo”.
@Muzi (Comment 127) : Actually it could have been Forwood. I saw his close up on the Wildeklawer preview vs Grey. He was huge.
@beet (Comment 126) : so you say goodbye…
@beet (Comment 128) : @beet (Comment 131) : and then post a couple more comments! π I really do laugh at strange things sometimes…
@robdylan (Comment 120) : Just think I should let you know that by the “About Sharksworld” it says [email protected], but I think its just me being impatient… π π Will resend just in case…
@Ben (Comment 129) : ha ha… surely you jest! π
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 135) : both of those addresses will reach me just the same π
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 135) : are your initials JA?
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 132) : Good point.
I remember witty former SB captain Stu Wilson making a comment on Reunion a few years back. He said that altho the Boks had upped their game that season, he believed that the ABs would continue to have the edge on them coz in his opinion his countrymen were better BALLPLAYERS.
So that’s ideally what we need. Some heroes to come thru who are good ballplayers to help bring about a change in mindset.
That said, we also can’t put it past the iRB to change the rules again and make some of those aspects that made Bulls rugby a good recipe popular again. π
@robdylan (Comment 136) : Where is he? π
π³ @The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 135) : ok – scratch that.
I must MOST HUMBLY apologise! Your mail got caught in my spam folder. I’m checking it now, I promise π³ π³ π³
@robdylan (Comment 125) : Beet, Muzi and The Sharks Sharkie are in town! π
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 134) : I’m multitasking. Watching the cycling highlights and typing.
But I admit I’m struggling with this foreign concept.
@robdylan (Comment 138) : Thats me! And you can say my name Rob, I don’t mind.
@beet (Comment 121) : Yes, well done to the Bulls for playing to the conditions. But you can still kick quite a bit and have a running rugby brand – The Crusaders are a good example of this.
@beet (Comment 139) : To even suggest such idea here on Sharksworld is disgusting!! πΏ πΏ I hope no one from the IRB is watching… π
@robdylan (Comment 141) : Ha! I will never forgive you for this Rob π π
@beet (Comment 143) : Most men do π
@beet (Comment 143) : @The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 147) : Oh that is assuming you’re a guy! π
@Ben (Comment 140) : I can’t say just yet… but he’s not in Durban any more. The Sharks never offered him a contract.
@robdylan (Comment 149) : Ag great! Someone I actually rated. π
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 148) : I was tempted to say what chick follows rugby to this level of detail but just remembered there are a few seasoned professional armchair lady fans that would give us guys a run for our money around here at SW.
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 146) : you get my reply?
@beet (Comment 151) : I take it you’ve met Letgo?
@Ben (Comment 150) : the thinking was they already had contracted fullback options in Gouws Prinsloo and Jaco van Tonder. Given that Stef, Odders and Louis all cover fullback already (as does Mark Richards too, come to think of it) it probably would have been overkill to sign de Kock as well.
To me, that argument only holds water if they give Prinsloo and van Tonder the game time to prove that they’re better players than de Kock. I’m not so sure about that one…
@robdylan (Comment 153) : No. I don’t think so. I was going by the quality posts we get to read from the likes of Molly, Ice and Shaz
@beet (Comment 151) : I reckon you would have been shot down for that comment! π
@robdylan (Comment 154) : Rob, Sean Erasmus was alos sad that Pieter-Stef du Toit had been promoted to u21 along with Jafta. Sean rates him quite highly.
@robdylan (Comment 152) : Yes thanx Rob, just finished reading it and sending a reply back (hope this one doesn’t end up in yr spam folder :twisted:)
@robdylan (Comment 154) : Can’t Ndungane play fullback as well?
@robdylan (Comment 154) : The reason I like Kobus is he’s a running Fullback. Very exciting player.
Haven’t really seen much if any at all from the 2 guys you’ve mentioned so I can’t judge them.
@beet (Comment 155) : Actually I think you need to remove Ice from that list because she has a huge bais to anything with the name “Dan Carter” in it. π
@robdylan (Comment 154) : @The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 159) : Wait a minute, who is “Odders”? I hope it isn’t Ndungane or else I just made a fool of myself!! π³
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 162) : Haha yup Odders is Odwa Ndungane. π
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 161) : I’d be inclined to remove Molly. She’s a bit too one-diprovincementional.
However to avoid a dispute let’s just eliminate both Ice and Molly from the list.
Still a pretty impressive list left tho’
@Ben (Comment 163) : you playing for Border this weekend?
@beet (Comment 157) : I see that… interesting that both him and the Ukranian lad seem to have leapfrogged our 2.06m giant in the pecking order.
@robdylan (Comment 165) : Nope I’m a bit unfit! Haha huh? What are you talking about? π
@robdylan (Comment 166) : Well its just a little over a week to go now, then we’ll have a good idea of how good our junior teams are.
Wheres Adonga.
@Honey Badger (Comment 169) : popped a shoulder
@Ben (Comment 167) : go check the Border team announcement on SuperRugby
