The Griquas team announced to face Western Province on Saturday has an orange tinge to it, as a lot of the stand out players from the Cheetahs Super Rugby campaign run out in blue this weekend.
Most notably, Riaan Viljoen and Davon Raubenheimer will be giving the Province players a good run while players like Barry Geel and Ryno Barnes also form part of the starting 22.
Ex-Sharks in the squad include Monty Dumond and Justin Downey, who both start the match, and an interesting inclusion in the bench is that of Earl Rose, who seems to be the second choice behind Dumond.
Griquas: 15 Riaan Viljoen, 14 Richard Lawson, 13 Wilmaure Louw, 12 Barry Geel, 11 Rocco Jansen, 10 Monty Dumond, 9 Shannon Rick, 8 Jonathan Mokuena (captain ), 7 Davon Raubenheimer, 6 Justin Downey, 5 Martin Muller, 4 Hendrik Roodt, 3 Lourens Adriaanse, 2 Ryno Barnes, 1 Steph Roberts.
Replacements: 16 Matthew Dobson, 17 Jean Botha, 18 Frikkie Spies, 19 Jaco Nepgen, 20 Matthew Rosslee, 21 Earl Rose, 22 Fabien Juries.

This imo is gonna be a team to watch out for..specially on homeground!
When I read the heading I thought the Griquas had been sponsored by Orange…
@lostfish (Comment 2) : Yip
Monty Dumond?? 😯
Well in that case, Province by 34!! 😈

Go Griquas this is the year you can make the semi final
@Ice (Comment 1) : With out Super Sarel I doubt they will beat Province. They need a better flyhalf as well IMO.
@lostfish (Comment 2) : @Honey Badger (Comment 3) : I thought it meant they were going to play in Orange jerseys… 😳
@Mutley (Comment 7) : I hope so but the Griquas always have a tendancy to underperform and just miss out on semis.
My dark horse of the Currie Cup, Go die Pou BLou!!!
