Well well, it seems that we finally have confirmation as to where the Currie Cup clash between the Sharks and the Pumas will take place this coming weekend.
The Sharks will be taking on the Pink Pumas at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit. Kick off is at 19h10 on Friday, 22 July 2011.
Unfortunately this game will not be televised, but it will be live streamed on Supersport. However for those who do not have the luxury, we will be giving live updates from the stadium, thanks to our resident SW Shirt and desktop background designer – GWEST!
We would like to call on all Sharks fans and Sharksworldians, who live close by, to make your way to the stadium and support the Boys! If you are planning on going – perhaps you can leave your comment here and mail me at [email protected] – I will then put you in touch with the others that are going – and who knows – perhaps you can all get together for a quick drink before the game! From what I’ve heard the tickets are only R60 apiece!
The Lions vs Pumas game crowd attendance last weekend was pathetic to say the least, and I cannot imagine how bad it felt for the Pumas to play at a venue like Coca Cola Park with a roaring crowd of three…or was it four…? Let’s give our team (and if you shout for the Pumas – your team) the necessary support they deserve!
The Currie Cup might be called “watered down”- but if last weeks’ Sharks game is anything to go by, I will certainly keep watching and do my bit to keep this grand old tradition alive and kicking!! Hope Nelspruit and surroundings give their support!

Thank you for the Article Ice! I wish that in future people can be made aware of games like this three weeks before the time because there are thousands of Sharkies down here in Nelspruit! I’m almost 90% sure that there are more Sharks supporters here than any other franchise! And i am doing my part on facebook and email and things to get as many of the people i know there!

I am quite excited this year to watch the “watered down” Currie Cup. There is so much young talent coming through and this gives them the perfect opportunity to play and gives us the chance to watch the young guns try to stake their claim.

Too bad the game is not on the TV. I don’t think the CC is watered down, it’s great seeing all these young talented players taking the step up and giving it they’re all. I’ll be checking in on the update.
About the Sharksworld designs (for the t-shirts), are they copywrited, because I would like to have myself a shirt made with the designs?

Girls got some signatures, not all – they were too shy to ask Michalak for his and he left, some others also headed away from practice in the other direction so …. I was busy chatting so Ludick has now signed the ball twice cos he was in the group signing and I couldn’t stop them handing him the ball in time hehehe

Johannesburg – Luckily for the Sharks, their performance against the Bulls in Durban was much more impressive than their new-look mascot.
Sharky – a popular mascot for the Sharks over the last number of years – has undergone a metamorphosis.
After the “new” Sharky was announced with much excitement a few weeks ago, it was disappointing to see a character that much rather resembles a Ninja Turtle or a bullfrog.
The old Sharky was much more athletic than the new version and also looked more like a Shark.
In fact, the new Sharky one is quite a comical character – sure to much rather be made a mockery of than being feared by opponents.
This character with his white pants and slippers will probably look much more at home at a Bowls club.
Like some fan said on Saturday: “If that is how sharks look, no one will be afraid of them.”
