John Plumtree has had the luxury of naming an unchanged line-up for Friday night’s match against the Pumas, with the short turnaround in-between games necessitating as much continuity as possible on the part of the coach.
The young players who all impressed against the Blue Bulls on Saturday will be given a further opportunity to show that their performances at Kings Park were no once-off feat and that they can repeat the same hunger, intensity and execution on the road, against less-famous opposition.
In a positional switch, Mark Richards and Louis Ludik have switched jerseys, meaning a start on the right for Richards. Dale Chadwick has been retained in the number 1 jersey after a stunning debut start at looshead and Julian Redelinghuys has been bracketed with Eugene van Staden as the reserve prop. Expect both players to make the trip to Nelspruit, with a late fitness test determining whether van Staden will take over from the youngster in the number 17 jersey.
The match kicks off at Nelspruit’s Mbombela Stadium at 7pm on Friday.

good to see
Excellent! Think its good for building continuity and team – especially against a hungry Pumas side in Nelspruit.
I hope our centres use this game to get into a bit of form. They were the only 2 that didn’t impress last weekend and they are suppose to be 2 of the most experienced.
Watched the highlights last night and Keegan was brilliant. Richards also impressed a lot. I hope Sbura gets some decent game time on Friday.
Great stuff. I hope v Staden pulls through and makes the squad.
This venue is a beautiful stadium. I hope they can fill it for a change.
I like that, good to give them a good run, pity we won’t see but the reports will tell the story 🙂
@KSA Shark © (Comment 6) : Me too,
And you’ve got mail 🙂
Nice! i like i like! gonna be a tough one.
@KSA Shark © (Comment 6) : Youve got mail from me too! 😆
@beet (Comment 7) :
We will only fill it for a Bokke game, the organisers are pathetic when it comes to this sort of thing it seems. Surprisingly enough all the Soccer games are always sold out… i wonder why… maybe because people know about it happening months before the time and can plan for it! 😈
@KSA Shark © (Comment 6) : your popular 🙂
@Ice (Comment 11) : @KSA Shark © (Comment 6) :
i also want mail hahahah 😆
@KSA Shark © (Comment 6) :
Yes we will need him for the Physical Pink Pumas
@G West (Comment 14) : u already have the game, now u want mail too 🙂
@Franshark (Comment 9) : I can’t see that mail until I get home tonight. Will reply then.
@KSA Shark © (Comment 17) : you really need a phone that can get mail 🙂
@Ice (Comment 11) : I’ll read yours when I get home too. 😉
@robdylan (Comment 18) : I can get mail on my phone, but can’t be bothered to set up the mailbox.
@KSA Shark © (Comment 20) : oh nice… it’s like you don’t love us at all 🙁
my half will be happy. he’s been living in fear that I will be dragging him to Witbank. Now – he’s safe – Nelspruit a bit far for us 😐
Good on Plum. I am glad they do not underestimate these Pumas at a time when it is so important to build up momentum for the season. GO SHARKS!!!
I like continuity. This is a new team so good opportunity to get some gelling going.
who is next to cover 12?
@rekinek (Comment 22) : You could always make a weekend of it, tell him you have had enough of the cold and need a bit of warming up. 😈
@rekinek (Comment 25) : JLP?
@Salmonoid (Comment 26) : Sounds not too bad. especially that I have a flu and bad cough. I’m not used to this harsh South African climate. Not sure though whether I can risk the freezing nights 😈
@Ice (Comment 27) : to be frank he can’t be much worse. perhaps if you don’t stress him with kicking could be a nice change.
@rekinek (Comment 29) : at least if JLP plays 80 min I can moan more
@rekinek (Comment 28) : Nelspruit should be warm enough, just make sure that the windows are closed when driving past Witbank.
@Salmonoid (Comment 31) : screw you guys… I’m going home! 🙂
@robdylan (Comment 32) : don’t be a sissy 😈 😉
besides somebody needs to maintain discipline here since KSA does not love us anymore 😆
@rekinek (Comment 33) : Exactly! I mean! He does not even want to make an effort to get our e0mails!! 🙁
@rekinek (Comment 33) : oh ja… that’s true!
@KSA Shark © (Comment 17) : no problemo 🙂
@robdylan (Comment 18) : agree 🙂
@robdylan (Comment 21) : You hit the nail on the head. 🙂
@robdylan (Comment 32) : Much more effecient to just say. FJELN! 😛
@KSA Shark © (Comment 38) : 😯 NASTY!!
@Ice (Comment 40) : his away from love for far too long now, whens that flight 🙂
@Ice (Comment 40) : indeed 😐 i think we need to get these dates when the KSAs are in Gold Reef City and when KSA is visiting one of the shafts close the door and keep locked until the love returns 😈
@rekinek (Comment 42) : Great idea, Reks!! 😆
@rekinek (Comment 42) : Maybe bumping Gold Reef City for Timbavati was a good idea……………
@KSA Shark © (Comment 44) : are you chickening now 😈
there is always plan B – like descending in numbers upon Durban in August 😈
@KSA Shark © (Comment 44) : we can always draw up a little contract on your head with a couple of lions!! 😆
@rekinek (Comment 45) : We will probably still be spending a night in JHB on the way up (31Jul) and on the way back (4th, 5th) but not sure if Gold Reef will still be on the agenda.
as for descending on Durban…….. kette is today booking a hotel room for her and myself at the Sibaya lodge for the night before the SLB. Will they let me in if I dress in drag?
@KSA Shark © (Comment 47) : i can’t believe that you are giving us all this information 😯 😈 😉
i’m sure if you add a wig they will let you in 😀 not sure you can sit at our table though you may be distracting Freddie too much
as to the night in Sibaya …. I’m sure Ice and myself can get extra toothpaste and negotiate sth with Kette
@rekinek (Comment 48) : Hey I made the front page of the Mercury for running the Spar Ladies 10k in drag. 😳
@rekinek (Comment 48) : You might need a designated driver so be nice to me. 😉
@KSA Shark © (Comment 49) : that’s why I am so afraid that you will distract Freddie 😆 (See- this is nice 😉
@KSA Shark © (Comment 50) : you do realise that this is breakfast we’re talking about 😆
@rekinek (Comment 52) : Hugh Bladen is close family of mine!
@KSA Shark © (Comment 20) : Hey, I told you I would set it up for you 👿
@KSA Sharkette (Comment 54) : Yeah but this way people can’t bother me when I don’t want to be bothered 🙂
@rekinek (Comment 52) : What time do you arrive the night before?
Does the hotel have a shuttle from the airport?
I could come in pretty handy 😉
@KSA Shark © (Comment 56) : 😛
@KSA Shark © (Comment 56) : i am not sure whether it’s safe to reveal travelling arrangements. In case you are setting up a trap let me tell you – we are in numbers
@Franshark (Comment 9) :
@Ice (Comment 11) :
I replied.
I love you both again, almost as if you were my own children. Just glad I didn’t have to deal with your report cards……. 😛 😉
@KSA Shark © (Comment 59) : What do you mean, you DON’T deal with your own children’s report cards 😳 😆
@rekinek (Comment 58) : I have little Hitler as back up. She’ll whip anyone into shape in no time. 😈
@KSA Shark © (Comment 61) : We’ll negotiate – I think we know how to speak to her kind 😈 😆
@KSA Sharkette (Comment 60) : eish…why you exposing the man 😕 😛
@KSA Sharkette (Comment 60) : 😛 my kids are brighter than those 2 😉
@rekinek (Comment 62) : Her Kind????? You have general knowledge I have personalised knowledge, I’ve been married to her for 15 years, i know which buttons to push and when to push which ones 😆
(runs and hides)
@KSA Shark © (Comment 65) : should have checked these reports 😆
This is not an attempt of start a racial debate and ask for quotas so just cool it. Read an article yesterday about transformation and we were nailed for not having any players of colour in the starting line-up last week (I didn’t even pick it up and I think that shows how far we have come as a country). To be honest when I read that I didn’t feel too good, I mean all the other big teams field at least 2 players of colour a game. Granted, our players are on national duty but that’s the same with the other big unions. My next question is then is, have we missed something? What are we doing as the Sharks to ensure that we play our role in the country? Zulu’s are the biggest population in the country, hell, they are descendants of warriors. Surely by now we should have had a healthy pool to select from. Does anyone know of any youngsters of colour in the system that have the abilty to stand their own in this competition this year or next year? I can think of Sbu and Adonga.
@KSA Shark © (Comment 59) : @KSA Shark © (Comment 64) :
Watch it!! I was clever at school…come to think of it…dont know where things went wrong..
