Griquas flank Davon Raubenheimer has signed a two-year deal with the Free State Cheetahs, effective 1 November.
The 27-year-old Raubenheimer, who was a surprise Bok tourist back in 2009, played a starring role for the Cheetahs at regional level in this year’s Super Rugby tournament and has been a stalwart for the Griquas team for a number of seasons. According to a statement released by his agent, James Adams, Raubenheimer has long wanted to play for a bigger team and the Cheetahs opportunity was too good to turn down.
“Davon would like to thank Griquas and the management for the support over the years and for all their input in helping him grow and develop as a better player, ” according to Adams.
Raubenheimer, known simply as “Stanley” to his Cheetahs team mates, will join up with his new side on completion of Griquas’ 2011 Currie Cup campaign.
Sharksworld is still waiting for Adams to confirm the rumoured move of Griquas fullback Riaan Viljoen to the Sharks,

I still haven’t gotten over Stanleys performance on that EOYT.
