Sharksworld had learned that French flyhalf Fred Michalak has been cleared to start at flyhalf against the Cheetahs tomorrow, while Marius Joubert has only recovered sufficiently to play off the bench.
The resulting reshuffle will see Louis Ludik move to fullback, with Stefan Terblanche renewing his midfield partnership with Meyer Bosman. Mark Richards moves to right wing, with Sbura Sithole making his first start on the left.
Gouws Prinsloo and Heimar Williams have been released to the Sharks under 21 side.
Revised Sharks team:
15 Louis Ludik, 14 Mark Richards, 13 Stefan Terblanche, 12 Meyer Bosman, 11 Sbura Sithole, 10 Fred Michalak, 9 Ross Cronje, 8 Keegan Daniel (capt), 7 Marcell Coetzee, 6 Jacques Botes, 5 Ross Skeate, 4 Anton Bresler, 3 Wiehahn Herbst, 2 Craig Burden, 1 Dale Chadwick
16 Kyle Cooper, 17 Eugene van Staden, 18 Jandre Marais, 19 Francois Kleinhans, 20 Cobus Reinach, 21 Jacques-Louis Potgieter, 22 Marius Joubert

I hope that the Sharks aren’t pushing Michalak too much. I’d rather have him sit out of the match on Saturday than gain a long, season-ending, injury.
At least I don’t have to edit my team on the highway now 🙂
this is awesome news, im guessing Michalak will get his break when the Sharks play the leopards. anywayz im almost off to the Pumas game. will give some updates on the thread, but it wont be as informative as the last games as ill do it from my mobile.
Like the look of Sithole!Look good !
flipo 10minutes to late and I see this 😛
I’m chuffed to be watching S’bura have a starting spot.
@KSA Shark © (Comment 6) :
same and want to see what he can do with more time on the field because he seemed ready for action against the Pumas.
@KSA Shark © (Comment 6) : It will be interesting to see how he performs. We got 2 very young, inexperience but pacey wings. Let’s show the Cheetahs who really can run faster! GO SHARKS!!!
@G West (Comment 7) : And marking Riaan Smit should not be toooo difficult to do well.
Can someone please walk me through Marius Joubert only recovering enough to be on the bench? If he has to come on in the first minute how different is that to starting the match?
@war1 (Comment 10) : And earlier in the week most websites made it sound like Joubert was likely to start whilst Michalak was 50-50. Seems like those roles have been reversed.
@war1 (Comment 10) : JL Potgieter could play center if there is an injury in the first minute. It is a gamble that the coach just has to take I guess.
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 12) : Why did he have to take that gamble?
@war1 (Comment 10) : Simple really.
Use the same midfield that gave the Cheetahs a hiding at the end of the S15
@war1 (Comment 13) : Because if there isn’t an injury in the first minute then Joubert won’t play at all and might be slightly rusty for the next week. At least now he can get 5, 10 or even 15 minutes against the Cheetahs to test his match fitness.
If someone does get injured in the first minute, and the coaches don’t want to play Joubert, then JL Potgieter can fill in, in the midfield.
@KSA Shark © (Comment 14) : I have no problems with that but why put a half-injured player on the bench?
Out of interest, where’s Luzuko Vulindlu?
@MerckZ (Comment 17) : I heard he was going overseas.
Good news for my Super Bru I picked the Sharks by 5 and Freddie will help
“French flyhalf” ❓ Ha-Ha – zee last ouopost of the Finned Ones. What’s next – next year it might be a Sharks flyhalf? 😉

@KSA Shark © (Comment 23) : Watching…Watching in horror whilst thinking: “Please, could that not have been a Saffa doing that – , but, then, realised, different strokes for different folks 😉 Maar nou ja, dis net die Currie Beker – niks Suid-Afrikaans daaroor nie, ne ❓ 😥 😐
@diablo (Comment 20) : Not if we can help it! 😈
