The Springboks called up Chiliboy Ralapelle, Pat Lambie and Lwazi Mvovo to the squad to face New Zealand in Port Elizabeth next Saturday. The hooker, flyhalf/fullback and winger will add some cover in key areas ahead of the final Tri Nations encounter for the Boks before the World Cup.

The news release that announced the trio’s call up also noted that the reports that John Smit had torn ligaments in his arm and will miss the World Cup were completely inaccurate, and that the medical staff will confirm any injuries on Monday.

  • Will Lambie start at 10 against the All Blacks? I don’t think so.
I think Butch should get another start with Lambie coming on from the bench.

  • @wpw (Comment 1) : I think with Frans Steyn being injured Lambie is being called as cover for 15.

  • Maybe these call-ups are not due to the injuries…….

The players’ provinces were contacted last week to secure their release for the final Tri-Nations Test of the season.

  • It doesn’t matter who he rushes back, Snor is STILL going to be the first coach to guide the Boks to their first all-loss Trinations ever. 😎 😎

  • Just on another note. I was not THAT dissapointed with the Boks on Saturday. I really saw some hope there – the one thing that I thought was done wrong on the day was the fact that Div brought on replacements WAY too early for me.

    O – ja – and Rossou’w’s hands… 🙄

  • @Muzi (Comment 15) : yeah pierre was on FIRE in that first half but disappeared, now the aim should be CONSISTENT, i won’t be satisfied with these one-off brilliant games, the measure of a quality Test player is his consistent quality over a period of time.

  • @Megatron (Comment 16) : If we can get 50 minutes from Pierre it would be great. We can then bring on Alberts as an impact player for the last 30. But I was happy to see him playing some good ruggas again.
