Pumas coach Jimmy Stoehouse has made a single change to his side to face the Sharks at Kings Park this weekend, with Tiaan Marx replacing the injured Tian Meyer at inside centre.
Marx and Meyer are both players who represented the Sharks at junior level, with the latter coming close to an emergency call-up to the Sharks Super Rugby squad this year. The combination of Coenie van Wyk at flyhalf and Marx at 12 caused the Durbanites all sorts of trouble when the Pumas very nearly upset them in Nelspruit earlier in the year and Stonehouse will be looking for more of the same.
Lock forward Rudi Mathee and hooker Pellow van der Westhuizen are the other players in the Pumas squad to have spent some of their careers in Durban, although Mathee didn’t stay long enough to ever represent the side in a match.
Pumas: MJ Mentz; Wilhelm Looch, JW Jonker, Tiaan Marx, Deon Scholtz; Coenie van Wyk, Shaun Venter; Doppies le Roux, Corné Steenkamp (capt), Jaco Bouwer, Marius Coetzer, Rudi Mathee, Ashley Buys, Pellow van der Westhuizen, Dawie Steyn.
Subs: Torsten van Jaarsveld, Brett Nel, Boela Serfontein, JP Mostert, Hendrik van der Nest, Siviwe Magaba, Johan Jackson.

This Johan Jackson, why does the name seem so familiar?
I liked the 2 Tia(a)ns when they were with us, still like them actually.
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 1) :
Used to be a centre at the Bulls I think? Lot of Bulls fans were tipping him as the best thing coming through for a while.
@hendrikp (Comment 3) :
Another JP du Plessis? hehehe..
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 4) : He’s been a bit of a journeyman. He played for the Lions as well, he was probably at his best there.
