Sharks loosehead prop Dale Chadwick celebrates a personal milestone against the Pumas tomorrow as he’ll earn his tenth Currie Cup cap.
It’s been a long time coming for the former Westville boy, who made his senior provincial debut (and earned a single cap) against the Leopards back in 2009. Chadwick scored a hugely important try to give the Sharks a fortunate win against the self-same Pumas back in round 2 and will be looking to cap off his 10th game with another good showing.
Another player who’s somewhat more experienced will be representing the Sharks in the Currie Cup for the 20th time. Fred Michalak earned 11 caps for the Sharks back in 2008 and with his 9th game of the 2011 season looming will reach the mielstone against the Pumas. Michalak only requires a single point to reach the 150 point mark for the Sharks in the Currie Cup.
Moving down the pecking order a little, scrumhalf Conrad Hoffmann earns his 5th Sharks cap. Adrian Jacobs, if he comes on, will earn his 65th.
Congratulations to Craig Burden on scoring his 20th Currie Cup try last week, while Jacques Botes (29) and Keegan Daniel (28) are both close to the 30 try milestone.
We’d also like to wish Mark Richards and Julian Redelinghuys all the best for their birthdays, today (Friday 9) and Sunday 11th respectively. While neither is playing tomorrow, they’re still important members of the wider squad.

Congrats all around!!
Dale is going to have a massive role to play in Super Rugby next year as our backup to Beast.
@robdylan (Comment 2) :
I’m quite sure! He has the talent and is still pretty young.
Hope to see him in the Sharks jersey for some time still!
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 3) : And to think, some people actually want us to buy Coenie Oosthuizen 😯
@Culling Song (Comment 4) :
Coenie can stay with the Cheetahs thank you very much!
yup… Dale is, at least, a prop.
Coenie is some sort of weird fat flank
@robdylan (Comment 6) : Lol
What do you get when you combine CJ van der Linde and Deon Stegmann?
@Ben (Comment 8) : Answer: Coenie Oosthuizen – A useless prop that loves to give away penalties! 🙂
Good player ,will develop into a good super rugby player and who knows maybe even higher honours -but lets not get ahead of ourselves .
@Ben (Comment 9) : Atleast he is being pro active ,alot of props just chil and sit in the line
@Ben (Comment 8) : LOVE IT 🙂
