Round 9 of the Currie Cup has come to an end and itβs time to have a look at how the various team managers are faring in the Fantasy League over on www.justrugby.net.
Hansa is starting to build a pretty healthy lead at the top of the table, now being more than 31 points over the second placed Red Zibearians. Te Maklik’s slide from the top is continuing as Jarson’s White Stripes have gone past and is now nicely placed in third position, not far behind Zibbie in second. WP XV makes a comeback, claiming fifth spot from Dwellies Sharks. The round was won by Wotaloser, who scored 498.75 points including his MVP bonus, finished clear by about 20 points from second placed Greg’s Lions, who has had an amazing run of two weeks, winning last week’s round as well.
The individual points scorers log this week is topped by Deon van Rensburg who scored 28 points for his managers, five points clear of Tertius Daniller (23). As was the case last week, we have a three-way tie for third, all the following players scoring 22 points: Isma’eel Dollie, Coenie van Wyk and Jaques Botes.
Amazingly, Fred Michalak has streaked even further ahead at the top of the points scorers log for the season so far, with Sias Ebersohn not getting much game time in the last two weekends. Michalak is now on 161 points, 24 points clear of Sias in second. Demetri Catrakilis, who did not take part in this weekend’s match, has dropped to fourth with teammate Johann Sadie taking over third on 128 points. Catrakilis is just behind him on 127 and is still 4 clear of Janno Vermaak in fifth (123).
It is still too early in the week to see which players will be returning from injury and which are out, but for those with Ross Skeate in your teams, he should be out for a while with that broken nose. A more detailed report on injuries will be posted later in the week.

Wow Greg.. You sure are having a good run at the moment!
I just can’t manage that elusive mvp point this time round π
@JarsonX (Comment 2) :
I can hardly manage to get the Starting 15 bonus point..
Two weeks in a row 1 player short..
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 3) : That happened to me twice as well, both times Ryno Benjamin withdrew at the last moment. Getting the full house bonus has not been that difficult to achieve this time π
@JarsonX (Comment 4) :
I somehow managed to keep Steenkamp in my team even though he was not playing.. idiot!
Last week it was Ashley Johnson.. Im not concentrating..
At least im keeping ahead in the DreamTeams one..
I just can’t manage to get any points… I suck at my own competition π
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 5) : You’re doing great there. I’m not nearly as proactive there as I could be. Derick Minnie almost cost me this week, luckily I swapped him before the round closed.
@robdylan (Comment 6) : I
@robdylan (Comment 6) :
I think its a time thing Rob.. π
Man I suck at this. Haven’t made any changes to my team in about a month. Its a commitment thing! π
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 1) : Thanks, starting to come together a bit!
@JarsonX (Comment 7) : I also only saw that Minnie had withdrawn after the round closed. That cost me a starting 15 win bonus. That coupled with yellow cards to Doppies and Jaco cost me the MVP and prevented me from winning two rounds in a row π
More news from the Lions camp . It seems Wikcus Van heerdens season might be over after he underwent an operation on his knee last night .
It seems the management is also thinking about resting Deon Van Resnburg and Baywatch
@Zibbie (Comment 13) : Don’t mind Deon but Baywatch is in my team π
