Sharks coach John Plumtree has made two changes from the team that took a beating against the Cheetahs last weekend, to face Griquas at Kings Park on Friday night. These are promising changes that some have been calling for for a while.

Firstly, Ross Cronje gets a start ahead of Conrad Hoffmann, who falls out of the match 22 completely, as Charl McLeod is back on the bench after his injury.

In the front row, Kyle Cooper gets more than his usual 5 minutes by starting ahead of Craig Burden, who has injured himself and will not take part this weekend at all. Cooper’s bench spot is taken by Monde Hadebe, the promising U21 Captain.

Changes on the bench see Wiehahn Herbst and Ross Skeate return after not taking part in the Bloemfontein clash, with Julian Redelinghuys and Jan Andre Marais falling out of contention.

Still a shame that Burden is injured, but shit, Cooper hardly gets 5 minutes a week!!

  • Adie Jacobs STILL on the bench. Better to see him start with Marius on the bench. Methinks. πŸ˜€

Shoot them both in the knee and buy the next big centre from the Cheetahs…

  • @Richard Ferguson (Comment 7) : I’m not predisposed to that level of violence; I’m the peaceloving type. Also, I’m not advocating getting rid of both centres; although I’m still some way off getting a Meyer Bosman tattoo, I think he could still add value with a better partner. Joubert was an exceptional centre many years ago, but currently he does not warm the cockles of my heart.

I enjoyed the game tho. Still can’t believe that Cian Healy actually won an MotM for scrumming. What do they say: S… does happen!

  • Decent lineup I think. Hoffman has struggled to settle in this year with injuries, but dont discard him cos he can play! Jacobs is excess baggage, its obvious he is not conditioned to play a full 80min so why not have a youngster on the bench instead. Lets hope the boys can get it together on Fri as Griquas will be coming for a win!

  • Well I got so carried away today that I forgot to wish one of my favourite Sharks players and one of the very best players to graduate from South African u21 rugby class of 2010, KYLE COOPER, all the very best for this game.

It’s been a long wait to see this energetic player get a start. Kyle certainly offers a bit of a Schalk Brits type dynamic with his bursts of speed, so if the game opens up a bit, I expect him to be prominent on attack.

His real challenge will be putting to bed any hints or suggestions that lineout throw-ins are his Achilles.

    Go Kyle Cooper!

  • @Talent (Comment 45) : ok, now you’re just doing it on purpose….

Please, it’s not Daniels… it’s Daniel. There isn’t an “s” at the end. Likewise, it’s not Ludick, it’s Ludik.

Getting a guy’s name wrong once as a genuine mistake is fine, but continuing to do it even after people have already pointed out the error is just disrespectful.

  • Our Sharks need to seriously sit down with John Plumtree and decide how they are going to fix their attitude towards games.

We need to become ruthless. To focus for 80 minutes in every game, then like the Boks yesterday the score will look after itself.

With the Sharks always doing just enough to win, they more often than not lose their shape and intensity and then when things are not going our way, they start ‘forcing’ intensity and we end up losing games we should have won on a canter.

On paper the Sharks, WITHOUT their Boks, should not have lost a single game.

Can someone please whisper into Plums ear?
