Sharks lose Burden, Ludik

Bad news coming out of the Sharks camp is that Louis Ludik will be out for the season, with Craig Burden possibly in the same boat.

Ludik went off just 15 minutes after taking the field against Griquas last night and confirmed via twitter today that he has suffered a broken bone in his foot. This will mean six weeks on the sideline and no further Currie Cup rugby for him this year.

Burden injured a groin muscle during practice last week and the best-case prognosis on his injury sees him out for 3 weeks, meaning a return in time for the Currie Cup knock-outs. At worst, though, he too may play no further part in the Sharks’ 2011 Currie Cup campaign.

We’d like to wish both players all the best for their respective rehabilitations.
