The Griquas team to face the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein this Saturday has been announced, with no changes from the team that beat the Bulls in Kimberley last weekend. Both teams will be desperate for the win in order to play in the semi-finals next weekend. Griquas will need 5 points and a few other results to go their way if it is to happen.
Riaan Viljoen continues in the 10 jersey, keeping Earl Rose firmly on the bench. The only change on the bench comes in the 22 jersey, as Monty Dumond falls out completely and Fabian Juries getting his shot.
15 Rudi Vogt, 14 Dusty Noble, 13 Wilmaure Louw, 12 Matthew Rosslee, 11 Rocco Jansen, 10 Riaan Viljoen, 9 Sarel Pretorius, 8 Leon Karemaker, 7 Justin Downey, 6 Jonathan Mokuena (captain), 5 George Earle, 4 Hendrik Roodt, 3 Lourens Adriaanse, 2 Ryno Barnes, 1 Ivann Espag
Substitutes: 16 Simon Westraadt, 17 Steph Roberts, 18 Jaco Nepgen, 19 Burger Schoeman, 20 Marnus Hugo, 21 Earl Rose, 22 Fabian Juries

Marius Jonker is reffing this match.
@KSA Shark © (Comment 1) :
Should make for an interesting battle..
oh man… can Griquas do the unthinkable?
Not that it matters, cos we’ll stuff the Cheetahs regardless of where we play them in the semi.
This will hopefully be an open running game, as FS go in search of the BP, that plays into the hands of the Griquas.
I’m sure Rocco Jansen made a few scouts stand up and take notice last weekend.
Sadly I also found out that Roodt is heading back to the Bulls next year. I had an idea that he’d be a useful addition to the depth chart in Durban.
I really like the way Vijoen and Rosslee combine as a 10-12 axis.
that is my take as well. with our boks they’ve got no chance in hell beating us either in durban or in bloem. sharks rule and thats no bull
@beet (Comment 4) : I thought Roodt was on his way to the lions 😕
So that means the bulls will not sign Eben Etsebeth. 👿
@beet (Comment 4) : seriously? Why would Roodt go back… he’ll have to compete head-to-head with Flip for a starting spot. Then again, on current form, Flip is the oke who’ll be on the outside
@beet (Comment 4) : Beet can you stomach this depth at lock for the bulls
Juandre….Flip..Roodt…Steenkamp….Mostert….Schalk van heerden…Jacques du plessis..Visser…Du preez and Herbst.
Leka Depth
@robdylan (Comment 8) : He wants to go back because he can become a bok.
roodt is going to the lions, not the bulls
@jovner (Comment 11) : Thats what i thought so we can still try sign Etsebeth sweet.
@jovner (Comment 11) : jeez, man – but good 4 locks are like gold dust at the moment.
@Muzi (Comment 12) :
I don’t see any sane reason why Etzebeth would want to go there. He’d be backing himself to play for WP & the Stormers soon, not go play Vodacom Cup rugby behind those lot.
Besides that, some people enjoy being close to their families.
@robdylan (Comment 13) :
Who you think the Sharks will go with?
I think if you’ve got Bissie & Alberts in the team, you can afford to play Skeate there, who isn’t exactly soft.
skeate is doing very good at the moment. i would play jandre and skeate with bresler coming off the bench.
@hendrikp (Comment 14) : Also, some people don’t enjoy the idea of living in Pretoria
@Culling Song (Comment 17) :
That also. Who would! I think they should launch an investigation into the brainwashing of players from Grey College and WP.
@hendrikp (Comment 15) : I must say, I wasn’t exactly bowled over by the news of Skeate’s signing, and at first he seemed to validate my reservations, but now I’m happy to report that Skeate is frequently making me eat humble pie… and it tastes good!
@hendrikp (Comment 18) : I lived behind the boerewors curtain for five years. I’d tell you about some of my experiences but… it’s… just… too… painful…
I really rate Roodt.
We have a dearth of quality number 4 locks at the moment.
Roodt
Flip
Elstadt
@wpw (Comment 21) :
Hope they let Bakkies play a few more games if they need to, rather then rewarding mediocrity.
@hendrikp (Comment 22) : Do you have any news of how Elstadts rehab is coming along?
My bad. I went back to the source of the wrong info and indicated that Roodt is actually joining the Lions.
Wonderful thing these rugby blogs where we can share info and opinions.
I think it’s a good move for Roodt.
Yeah Roodt is going to Lions so ive heard, think this is a brilliant move for the guy. Think he will get brilliant conditioning and be superfit and has a great chance to really make the no 4 jersey his own. Lions need a real enforcer in that pack, something they may have been missing.
Really rate Rocco Jansen as well, he is lightning, dont think he will be at Griquas much longer if he keeps going the way he is.
When will we have a Cheetah team. I need it to finalize my FL team! 👿
So when do we get the Cheetahs team? 😕
@Original Pierre (Comment 26) : @JarsonX (Comment 27) : 😳 😆
