Western Province have Bokked up for their match against the Pumas this afternoon/evening, with six returning Springboks selected in the match 22, as they attempt to qualify for the semi finals next weekend. It is a straight fight between the Bulls, Griquas and Western Province for fourth spot, and by the time this game kicks off, Province will know exactly what they need to do.
The Province backline is one of the most exciting I have seen all Currie Cup season and Demetri Catrakilis must be likcing his lips at the thought of having both Jean de Villiers and Juan de Jongh outside him.
The Pumas, after quite a season where they started very slowly, battling to close down matches, eventually got their first win in the second round of matches, and then built up a head of steam, even knocking over Griquas. We bid them farewell from Currie Cup action, and wish them all the best in the lower division.

@KSA Shark © (Comment 3) : Easy fella! 😆

@KSA Shark © (Comment 10) : 😉
So it’s Lions vs Province and Sharks vs Cheetahs
You really do have to feel sorry for the Lions supporters. All season they’ve been blowing their trumpets…top of the log…home semi and if they’re lucky a final. But all of that and to fall short at the finish line will be gut wrenching.
WP 7-0

@KSA Shark © (Comment 10) : cool, better thanks 😉
@KSA Shark © (Comment 9) : ROFL
@klempie (Comment 13) : aaaah, same 😉
@klempie (Comment 13) : don’t think the lions are even going to make the final….
@Kopskudkinders (Comment 18) : will be sharks vs wp final….
@Kopskudkinders (Comment 18) : Hence “and if they’re lucky, a final” 😛
@Klempie
Why have you written the Lions of, don’t underestimate them
Province looking for their bonus point under 10 min, running every thing, and the boks enjoying the no presure game..
@Mutley (Comment 21) : Dude. With the Boks back, the Lions don’t stand a chance.
Province getting a penalty and no suprise they not kicking for goal 🙂
@klempie (Comment 20) : they will need much more than luck…. someone like a bryce lawrence mixed with an alain rolland to ref the game…
Try Deon Fourie
@Mutley (Comment 21) : you reckon the lions would be in the same position if they had between 10 – 15 players not playing the majority of the currie cup?
WP 14-0
11min
Ok, WP gonna score tries, please a few FL tries will be nice
Don’t underestimate the Lions, they have tasted victory and liked it, in the Superxv they played to a draw against a full strength Sharks and pushed the Bulls and Stormers close, but we will wait and see
@klempie (Comment 23) : @Kopskudkinders (Comment 25) : A lot of people said the same about the Sharks’ chances in last year’s final..
The ref having a terrible game…and the Pumas on the receiving end of that…
Especially that try was a double movement and knock…
Hope after our WC fall out SARU will take this crap seriously…no matter who the side is…make if fair guys…
Try Jaco Bouwer

Another bad call…Habana never releasing in the tackle and give the penalty to WP for Pumas holding…and the ref was right there so there is no excuse…
The more the watch I think of a WC quarters and get heated all over…
@Ben (Comment 31) : the only difference is the sharks team that played in the final last year is much better and more experienced than the lions team….
@Ben (Comment 35) : more and more players will try their luck with that after last weekend….
@Kopskudkinders (Comment 38) : Point is any team can win on the given day.
Pro must watch himself…south africans are still very hurt after last week…
We will start a campaign against him…

Well Klempie…WP have more points than they deserve and all thanks to Amature Lekoto….
And the “forward pass” he just called where Pumasd would have scored…
As much as I’d rather play WP in the semi’s at Coke park…make it fair…
Kit change for Pumas? 😐
Hmmm
Dude, calm down. Pro aint the best but there’s no way Pumas deserve to still be in this game.
LMAO. Pro telling rugby players to watch their language?!!
WPW…should have been 14 – 8…2 very poor decisions got WP a converted try and penalty goal…
I am hoping WP win by more as the Bulls is tweice the threat in a semi at Coke park…but I’d rather have a fair game…
Klempie if I was captain I did reply by saying it be easier to get the language right if he got his blowing right…
PK Bezuidenhout
Pumas 11
WP 24

Wp still to get that 4th try and only 1 point save 😯
Real score 14 – 11 WP
Pro’s score…24 – 11 WP
And we not even counting the pumas not forward pass called where they were clear through…
@Hmmm (Comment 56) : Not forward? Now you are clutching at straws!
Catrakilis is a softy!
@Hmmm (Comment 56) : geeez u are on this ref-wagen…
The Pumas 12 is a big guy…just ran over Cat andf JdV same time and then Siya as if they tackle bags…only a Schalk tackle dislodging ball saving WP…
Try Kolisi

@klempie (Comment 74) : the aggression off being knocked out in the WC showing 😉
If Butch made that tackle 10 min in the bin
Last warning for Pumas scrummer to keep it straight
Try RW Kember
@Franshark (Comment 81) : and they reply with a try, nice 😉
Pumas 19
WP 36

It must be the BB blackout that caused the teams playing not getting my memo’s, no margin points for me all weekend yet…
That ball wasn’t carried back! Wth?
A FL try and its not awarded, 👿
Wait, there’s two Danillers? 😐
try Habana
Haaaaabanana scores
Thanks Province for shutting up those tappits from Pretoria! 😆
So baai baai Pumas, no CC for you anymore…..
@Ben (Comment 91) : Just sent my boss an SMS saying he’s got two weekends off to go fishing now! 😈

So just maybe it Sharks vs WP in Durbs, again….
Fulltime
WP 43
Pumas 18
@klempie (Comment 93) :
Good win in the end for WP…although Amature Lekota ruined it…
@ Ben 56…that pass to Pumqs 12 when he popped the ball up to Jonker who was right through…was not forward guy…
Glad WP as I am a lot more comfortable playing WP than Bulls at Coke park…but rather have it fair…
Hmmm
You’re much more comfortable facing WP?? Um, dude, you’re so not gonna beat us next week…unless we have more injuries of course. Looks like the Greek is out and maybe JJ Engelbrecht. 🙄
