Today sees the first of 3 ODI’s between SA and Australia. The game is played at SuperSport Park, Centurion. and bowl-off time is 14:30 SA-time. The next 2 matches will be played on Sunday 23 Oct in Port Elizabeth and on the Friday 28th in Durban.
A very interesting thing about these games is there are a few rule changes.
The most significant changes are that they are playing with two balls from the start of the game, batting power plays have to be taken between overs 16 and 40 and no runners allowed for injured players anymore. There’s a few more but well catch that as the games are on.
After the exiting last T20 game that SA won to draw the 2 T20 game series, we are looking forward to have a good contested game.
A few experienced players with the likes of Kallis, Boucher, Steyn are returning to the frame and it has to be seen if the experience count.
SA squad:
Hashim Amla (Sunfoil Dolphins, capt), Johan Botha (Chevrolet Warriors), Mark Boucher (Nashua Mobile Cape Cobras), JP Duminy (Nashua Mobile Cape Cobras), Faf du Plessis (Nashua Titans), Imran Tahir (Sunfoil Dolphins), Jacques Kallis (Nashua Mobile Cape Cobras), David Miller (Sunfoil Dolphins), Morne Morkel (Nashua Titans), Wayne Parnell (Chevrolet Warriors), Robin Peterson (Nashua Mobile Cape Cobras), Graeme Smith (Nashua Mobile Cape Cobras), Dale Steyn (Nashua Mobile Cape Cobras), Lonwabo Tsotsobe (Chevrolet Warriors).
Aus squad is:
Michael Clarke (c), Shane Watson (vc), Doug Bollinger, Patrick Cummins, Xavier Doherty, Brad Haddin, Mike Hussey, Mitchell Johnson, Shaun Marsh, James Pattinson, Ricky Ponting, Steven Smith, David Warner
Injuries to Brett Lee and AB de Villiers see them still on the side lines.
If SA win all 3 matches they will go level on top of the world ranking for ODI’s

“The most significant changes are that they are playing with two balls from the start of the game”

@Ben (Comment 1) :
