According to an article in die Volksblad, Shark prop Beast Mtawarira underwent a minor medical procedure in Cape Town this week, but came through with flying colours and is expected to be fit for the start of the Super Rugby season.

John Plumtree mentioned in an interview a month or so back that something minor was niggling the Beast and while no further details have been made available about exactly what was wrong, Beast is already back in Durban and preparing for a nice Christmas break with his wife and daughter at Vic Falls.

If your Afrikaans is any good and you’re interested in hearing Beast’s nurse gush about how little body fat he has, or how big his forearms are, you can read the original report here.

  • Goon on yer, Beastie Boy! Look forward to you being at your best next season – you weren’t quite yourself this year.

  • @beet (Comment 4) :
Saracens and Ospreys are going to be crying, with them being in the same pool and probably only one of them making the 1/4 finals. With that said I think it will be the Ospreys comfortably.

I think Munster, Leinster and Toulouse will be semi-finalists.

  • @KSA Shark © (Comment 5) : The important thing is having an Italian team in your group. Thats usually max points in the bag right there and favourable homeground adv for the quarters and semis

  • I hope this means he’s going to start living up to his rep as “Beast” or will he continue to play like a total moffie. 😕

  • Bashford said we gave away too many penalties so they will be looking at discipline.
