Coetzee leaves Stormers door ajar for Jacobs

Alister Coetzee has not gone as far as offering discarded Sharks centre Adrian Jacobs a contract, but has welcomed the Bok veteran to his squad, saying Jacobs is more than welcome to train with the squad for the time being.

Faced with a centre cupboard that looks surprisingly bare after the defections of Johann Sadie, Tim Whitehead and Jaque Fourie (albeit temporarily), Coetzee admitted that “Adi looks more and more like a guy that could fit in”.

Jacobs has confirmed that he also has options abroad – our information is that top clubs in both England and France are chasing his signature – but wishes to first spend some time with his family in Cape Town before making any firm decisions about his future.

  • Let me see WP let sadie,J-J,Bosch,Cronje and whitehead leave.
Add Louw,CJ who was damn usefull in the currie cup final.

Now they bring in Burton,Adi and that prop ferreira guy in the mix.
Hell even Hilton Lobberts is back πŸ™‚

Atleast shadow van den heever is a good buy but he has his own personal problems first of all tackling then discipline issues but nienaber will sort that out.

I guess some wp supporters are right.

Rassie and Allister are running a Circus πŸ˜€

Him receiving the ball as a first-receiver was a tactic probably brought in by Rassie I’d say. Can’t blame him for playing the way they ask him to.

That ball getting turned over… Pocock in from the side, and Brussow was the one who got man-handled off the ball. Has absolutely nothing to do with Schalk!

The turning the back thing does annoy me a bit but I still can’t really fault his ball-carrying regardless. He’s not vulnerable on the ground, and puts himself in positions for an offload.

I think you should start getting used to the idea, because more then likely that’s what is going to happen if anyone but Heyneke becomes coach!

  • @PaarlBok (Comment 88) : hmmm na i think Bosch is better  what he did with william this year was exciting they were unstoppable with ball in hand.

Bosch reminds me of Sadie he has the ability to break a line with ease.

  • @PaarlBok (Comment 89) : The next BIG THING at 9 is Tygerberg skipper andre warner he reminds me of fourie du preez.

Those Paarl Boys High locks have a bid future as well.

  • @Muzi (Comment 91) : Well a year back Bossie was the talk of town whenever ever the Bloedworse played. We struggled this year but we’ll be back with a bang this year. Altho the Bloedworse were my only team that provided joy in 2011 in that one important game. I have never saw the GalPille in disarray like this year after their unexpected interschool loss and Handre was the arcitect.

  • @Muzi (Comment 78) : @hendrikp (Comment 79) : The one thing that the John Smit saga has shown us is that a situation where your captain is not the best player is his position can be quite difficult to manage, and adversely affect the team. Given that as 8th man Spies (in terms of playing ability) ranks below Ryan Kankowski, Willem Alberts, Ashley Johnson, Duanne Vermeulen and Hestrie Cloete, that should effectively rule him out of contention as captain. Ever.

  • Thank goodness those signings ( chabal, sharpe, doppies,de jongh )were only rumours..but okay,we need a loose forward that can play lock or a lock that can play loose forward,a the backline I would also like to see 2 signings.but would make it 12.steyn 13.cooke.. But that will cost a bit of money…and kockott at 9.

  • I`m happy with this development.
Sure Adi might not get a lot of game time here in CT, but I hope he grasps every opportunity he does get with both hands.

That way Plum will see what a stupid decision it was to leave Adi on the bench for plonkers like Joubert!

We already have Doppies , Hollenbach , Mapoe , Murray .

Butch can slot in there as well. dont think we need centers . we need to back our current players to do the job .
