So we start another year, and to all of you who I haven’t said this yet, all the best for 2012, let’s hope the year is kind to us in all forms. It is that time of the year though, that most of us sit down and try make some resolutions, things we want to change or do better in 2012, compared to what we got ourselves into in 2011.
So for interest’s sake, here are mine:
1. Watch more rugby – Now this might sound like an easy resolution, but this is not the case. For any of you that have a loved one in your life, you would understand how this could be a tad more difficult. With all the SuperRugby starting in just a few weeks, here’s a tip: Let your loved one watch all the Home Improvement and Cooking shows now, and let them get so sick of it that the rugby will come as a nice change.
2. Get to the Tank – This relates purely to Durban fans. I am in a very fortunate position to be able to attend every single that takes place at Kings Park, and I can say that I attended 95% of the games in 2011. I am going to try my utmost best to get even better at this, and watch every single game, and I want every single Durban based fan to attend at least one more game than they did in 2011.
3. Realistic expectations – This is a tricky one. When I sit down to watch a Sharks match, whether they are playing at the Tank or at Twickenham, I always expect a 5 point bonus victory, and I get thoroughly upset if this is not achieved. This year I plan on being more realistic, and being happy with a narrow 2 point win with no tries scored. We need to learn to take a win as a win, and believe me, I know how hard this can be. True fans always expect the best, but let’s forgive the boys every now again if they do struggle.
4. SuperBru – This year I will win a SuperBru pool or a Last Man Standing or Fantasy League, it is as simple as that. The rest of you might as well not even enter. This is what you might call the dropping of the gauntlet!
5. Personal opinion – This is more of a personal resolution, but one that I share with you anyway. This year I will write more opinion articles. We all have opinions on certain matters, especially when it comes to our beloved rugby teams. And nothing is stopping you as avid Sharksworld reader to voice your opinion either. Just get hold of any of the admins on the site and we will gladly put your voice out there.
Anyway, that’s me for 2012. I hope to see you all at the Tank at some point during 2012. Here’s to a Black and White year, filled with some silverware.

Hear hear, this year I will write and write and write.
waylon murray stating that he is heading to Durban after his holidays . any news regarding this ?

Holiday time almost over , thanks for the memories #CapeTown , see you soon #Durban 🙂
@Zibbie (Comment 6) : more holiday perhaps? Is he still injured?
@Zibbie (Comment 6) : While I would love to hand him the black and white 13 again, that probably means he`s stopping over in Durban.
@Pokkel (Comment 7) :
think he is just getting out of it now .
@Original Pierre (Comment 8) :
ah yes .. fliying Cape Town to Jozi via Durbz 😛
I’m waylon just visiting friends and family,I’d think..
Lol..!! Meant I think and not I’m :-D:-D
:sob: all are probably right. Please God let france offer an unrefusable amount of money to Joubert!
@Zibbie (Comment 6) :
Don’t worry; I don’t think Waylon will return to the Sharks as long as the current coaches and commercial manager are there.
@Zibbie (Comment 2) : Waylon’s still on holiday… Lions only start next week. Guess he’s visiting family in Durbs
Q: What is a New Year’s resolution?
A: A to-do list for the 1st week of the new year. 🙂
Rich!
YOU HAVE NO IDEAAAAAAAAA how pissed I am that the Durban test is 9 June, while I am still in KSA. 🙁
Murray must stay just where he is thanks. Is our 12/13 situation that bad that we are resorting to a “In the land of the blind, one-eye is king” mentality?
@KSA Shark © (Comment 17) : It’s called desparation!
my wife have a resolution of having breakfast in bed every day of this year, so I moved her bed to the kitchin. 😉
I’m just gonna drink more wine and enjoy my rugby more! 😆
@Ice (Comment 20) : which is first, the wine or the rugby 😉
@KSA Shark © (Comment 16) :
Howzit Andre.
Compliments of the season! Do you have your tickets booked for the year? Do you wanna do some form of cost share while you are not here?
We will chat about it..
Catch up soon!
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 22) : The family are here with us in KSA at the moment. Leaving for RSA on Friday.
1st order of business on return to RSA is to pick up the tickets. 🙂
I’ll chat to you soon, but no need for cost share, just let me know when you need tickets and we can work something out. I CAN tell you I won’t be home for the England test on 9 June 🙁 So the tickets will be available to you 🙂
@KSA Shark © (Comment 23) : @Richard Ferguson (Comment 22) : And Rich if you don’t wanna use I’ll be glad to 😯 just trying my luck here, and the 9th is the day after my b-day…….
@KSA Shark © (Comment 23) :
That’s a shame that you won’t be here, the Tests are the big reason you have the tickets.
I will certainly take you up on that offer! When are you planning on being in SA though? we need to arrange another get together or dinner.
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 25) : I might not make it at all during the rugby season. 🙁 And we all know how many English Rugby Jerseys I have 🙂
1st vacation for the kids is 25June to 26Sept. I plan on taking 3 weeks with them and going to the USA. Kette and the girls will be in RSA for the rest of that time, probably from about Mid July.
2nd Vacation is from 12Dec to 5Jan which we plan to spen in RSA.
@robdylan (Comment 14) :
mmm long holiday …. makes a man worry …
@KSA Shark © (Comment 26) :
Well, we hope to see you soon though.
I will be sure to nag you about these tickets!
