The Melbourne Rebels start their trial matches this Friday evening, with a game against the Chiefs, but may be without one of their big off-season signings.
The Rebels signed both Kurtley Beale and James O’Connor in a bid to be more competitive this season, but Beale might have to wait until later to pull on the new jersey, with a hamstring related injury potentially keeping him on the side lines for longer than expected.
Speaking at coaching session with kids this week, Beale said that he was aiming to be ready for his new team’s first SupeRugby outing, which ironically enough, is against his previous employers, the NSW Waratahs.
Beale originally hurt himself in the Rugby World Cup match against South Africa, and after being selected in the Third/Fourth play off game as well, reinjured himself.

Rich I haven’t seen the Rebels squad. Is Cipriani history and if so, even if not so, do you think o’Connor will be their flyhalf ❓ ❓ ❓
@beet (Comment 1) :
Cipriani is still there, and I think they will play them together in the 10-12 slots..
I personally think they will move James to 10 eventually, he is just too talented ..
In my search about Cipriani I found that Stirling Mortlock is also on the injured list.
That guy’s knees are made from the sticky stuff on toffee apples!!
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 3) : I suspect he came from the Andre Pretorious/Waylon Murray/Burth James/Juan Smith litter 😈
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 2) :
Yeah if only he would keep his trap shut though
Only last week he was saying Cipriani should be England flyhalf. Haha. Plays with the guy but doesn’t realize how hopeless he is in comparison to the flyhalves England have available to them.
@hendrikp (Comment 5) :
He may be a talented fellow, but dumb as dog shit..
Must be this new Bieber-era..
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 6) : Sorry Rich, but how do you post an article? Some happenings in the Kings area worth mentioning.
@StevieS (Comment 7) :
Do you wanna just mail it through to me and I will get it up under your name..

@Richard Ferguson (Comment 8) : Thanks 🙂
