,Stormers wing Gio Aplon can be forgiven if he thought he’d arrived at practice early yesterday – although it turned out that the first bag he tackled was actually his car’s airbag.
The diminutive try-scoring machine was involved in an unfortunate motor accident yesterday, but the good news is that no serious injuries were sustained by anyone involved, which really is a blessing whichever way you look at it.
Again fortunate, especially for the news-starved among us, is the fact that celebrity tweeter extraordinaire (and sometimes rugby player) Bryan Habana was not far behind and immediately offered his services, both to help those involved and to keep us updated about the events via Twitter.
Aplon sustained bruising to his forearm as a result of the airbag’s deployment, but it is not yet clear whether he will be pulled out of the Stormers’ weekend warm-up against the Lions as a result.
Glad to hear you’re Ok, Apples mate!

What luck..
Glad all is okay..
He thought he saw Bryce Lawrence in the car in front
@Mutley (Comment 2) : 😆
I immediately thought of “skaapstad” and his knee injury that cost us the WC back in the day…
The smaller they are – the tougher they’re built. He’ll be fine!
