Big Franch utility forward Seb Chabal has been released from his contract with Racing Metro.
According to a report on Sport24, the reason for the split came down to a difference of opinion on the club’s strategy. That, to me, sounds like a good way of saying that the coaches simply couldn’t work with him any more – given his reputation for being something of a maverick.
Apparently the parties will remain on “good terms”, but it will be interesting to see where the hirsute 33-year-old goes next, since he must rapidly be approaching his sell-by-date. Perhaps a trip down to the south coast to have a chat with the boys at Toulon will be on the cards – they’ll buy anything, after all!

They lift their weary heads and see to their joy he is being substituted. Hooray they all cry (surprisingly in unison and with amazing harmony)! Their joy is, however, short-lived as Sebastian Chabal lumbers onto the field and picks up where Josh left off 😆
