Waratahs flyer Drew Mitchell will in all likelihood miss the start of the Super Rugby season, following a tendon injury in his foot. This after the player missed a whole lot of the Super Rugby season last year and then picked up another lengthy injury during the World Cup.
Things do not look good for the Waratahs, as they have just lost Lachie Turner for most of the Super Rugby tournament as well, and are looking a bit thin on the wing.
Mitchell has admitted that the last few months have been really hard on him, as he spends more time in rehabilitation than he does on the training fields. Mitchell should be back in time for the game against the Rebels in the second week.
In other news, the Waratahs could sign Stephen Hoiles as he has been training with the Waratahs since leaving the Brumbies at the end of last season. Hoiles had a terrible Achilles injury and is recovering well from that, and could turn out for the Waratahs this year.
