It is that time of the year again, with the Super Rugby season less than a week away now, and the time is ripe to get a few bargains on the sports betting front.

Looking at the overall winner of Super Rugby 2012:

Crusaders – 3/1
Blues – 5/1
Reds – 6/1
Stormers – 9/1
Waratahs – 9/1
Sharks – 12/1
Bulls – 17/1
Chiefs – 18/1
Highlanders – 25/1
Brumbies – 33/1
Hurricanes – 33/1
Lions – 33/1
Cheetahs – 50/1
Force – 50/1
Rebels – 50/1

If you do not know who is going to lift the trophy, how about predicting the winner of one of the three conferences:

South Africa:
Stormers – 13/10
Sharks – 2/1
Bulls – 4/1
Cheetahs – 10/1
Lions – 10/1

New Zealand:
Crusaders – 12/10
Blues – 18/10
Chiefs – 5/1
Highlanders – 8/1
Hurricanes – 14/1

Reds – 11/10
Waratahs – 15/10
Brumbies – 9/1
Rebels – 10/1
Force – 12/1

In the long term, there are already odds on the extended Tri Nations, also known as the Rugby Championship:

New Zealand – 5/10
Australia – 3/1
South Africa – 4/1
Argentina – 66/1

If you have any questions regarding the above odds and how things work, feel free to ask me on the site or send me an email at [email protected]

  • Argentina 66/1 – shame not a hope in hell… They will be a competitive outfit, but will be shocked if they win one test in this Championship. I am all for their integration, and firmly believe this will fuel their rugby economy big time – they may eventually make a worthy adversary…

Would be great for SH to dominate top 4 world rankings.

  • I have a question . The lions are 33/1 on the over all log . and the Cheetahs 50/1

Now how do both teams get 10/1 top top the conference . Shouldent this be consistent with the over all log ?

  • @Zibbie (Comment 2) :

    It should be yes..

If I were making the odds myself, I would had the Cheetahs at about 12/1 to top the SA conference.

    But you are right..

Interesting to see people think the Lions will perform better then the Cheetahs .

    I personally think they will..

Little things like momentum and belief will get them further in this year..

  • Hope the Argentinians can really get all their players back, have pushed the Antipodeans close when playing in Pumaland.

  • The Rebels will win the Super rugby, King will win the Currie Cup, Argentina will win the Rugby Championship and pigs will fly

  • Al jokes aside, Sharks, Crusaders and Warathas will top the log with either the Stormers or Lions getting in 2nd for SA, the Bulls will start well but injuries will halt there momentum and lack of depth, same with the Cheetahs, the Stormers inability to get bonus points will be there undoing while the Lions will be good in SA but struggle on tour. The Sharks will finish top but choke in the Semis, I predict a Crusaders vs Warathas final but the Reds will be in the play off games
